1) The market is huge, but very limited by transportation. Residues, manure, etc are heavy, so dewatering to reduce weight and/or hauling can get v expensive. Especially considering the total amount of nutrients in them are a lot lower than synthetic fertilizers.
So by & large there's a huge demand, BUT only for buyers that are geographically close due to high transpo costs. So if you don't have close neighbors who want to buy then it's like ... there's no market.
2) That said, for very small operations (so making about a ton or less of manure or w/e per week)

composting & selling waste can be a huge revenue stream.

Of the aquaponic farms I know, the ones who compost & sell their fish poop say it's one of their biggest revenue sources.
This is bc they can make a big ooh ahh story about their super unique fish poop, & they don't have the pressure of needing to move huge amounts. So they can sell little 10lb bags of it to home gardeners at a ridankulous markup.
(It also kind of makes you wonder how profitable the rest of their venture is if upcycled fish poop is their big moneymaker, but that's none of my business.)
There are dairies & hog farms starting to use biodigesters to process their manure. Turn half of it into natural gas, & what's left has more concentrated nutrients so it pencils out to ship it further. But that's still in beginning stages & I think needs subsidies to work still.
