Which begs the question: If the missile detection equipment and systems failed to detect the incoming meteor, would they also fail to detect an incoming missile? Why did the Air Force not discuss this publicly or issue a prior press release?
Was the meteor detected by the team working on near-Earth asteroids? If not, why not? And if so, why was this meteor publicly disclosed? Could the USAF have intercepted it if it was detected in advance? Did they remain silent so as to not panic people? What gives with this story?
And this fellow's tweet is noted in the Fox news story about the missed metoer strike. I was hoping to find out some science from this guy's Twitter account, but instead found he is a rabidly liberal Trump hater. Check his account. Ugh!
