Thread: An Old IC Guy Resurfaces to Weigh in on Brennan, McRaven, etc.

1. Former CIA director (and perjurer) John Brennan was skewered by Sam Faddis, a retired CIA operations officer in an open letter some weeks ago. Let’s start with a couple of excerpts from it:
2. “I implore you, however to cease and desist from continuing to attempt to portray yourself in the public media as some sort of impartial critic concerned only with the fate of the republic.”
3. “I beg you to stop attempting to portray yourself as some sort of wise, all-knowing intelligence professional with deep knowledge of national security issues and no political inclinations whatsoever.”
4. “You were never a spy. You were never a case officer. You never ran operations or recruited sources or worked the streets abroad. You have no idea whatsoever of the true nature of the business of human intelligence.”
5. “You have never been in harm’s way. You have never heard a shot fired in anger. “

“Everything that has transpired in your professional career since has been based on your personal relationship with the former president, his wife Hillary and their key associates.”
6. “Your connection to President Obama was, in fact, based on you having established yourself by the time he came to office as a reliable, highly political Democratic Party functionary.”
7. And this is EXACTLY the role he performed during and after Obama’s presidency. He continues in that capacity with his vitriolic hatred for @POTUS to this very day in his CNN appearances and insane tweets. Read the rest here to calibrate the SOB:…
8. Sam Faddis is absolutely spot on! He would be my FIRST pick to unscrew the CIA and even the entire Intelligence Community. He is one of only a very few Agency Case Officers that have my respect - even after reviewing his actions after the fact.
9. The mere fact that NO ONE IN THE ENTIRE INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY has recommended Sam to @POTUS to be the ultimate “Intel Repairman” is that Gina Haspel and her ilk are afraid of sweeping fixes and realignments that would negate ….
9A. …the established power structure that spends at least as much time protecting and advancing itself as it does in pursuing the execution of chartered missions and responsibilities.
10. I only wish he were running for office in a Red State - in Maryland he keeps hitting the Blue Wall. But perhaps someday….…
11. Shifting to ADM McRaven and his (forced) plea to have his security clearances removed because he is “shocked” that his pal John Brennan’s were pulled on Wednesday. I call your bluff and am all in: revoke ‘em now, Mr. President!
12. Once no longer officially attached to an agency, a clearance is SUPPOSED to be "retired" for a period of time (during which it is in limbo and NOT IN EFFECT). After that time-frame it is DELETED!
13. BUT - I way too frequently observe that folks continue to discuss "stuff" with their (currently not actively cleared) friends as if all is a-okay. Brennan types then use this info to generate publicity, $$$ or contracts.
14. It’s always about the cash, as well as retaining political viability with one’s masters for the next gov’t job. Oh, and about being blackmailed, too, because once you’re in the game at this level, they’ve got you by the gonads.
15. So - (craven) McRaven ought to shut the heck up. In fact - employment and clearances demand that public whining is not allowed. Especially for military folks. If his clearance is in effect and active - well - he ASKED for it to be revoked. Give him his wish.
16. Not put into "inactive status" - outright revoked. As with declaring that one has revoked one's citizenship - a done deal. In fact - to not revoke it at this point is to incur risk.
17. Revoke it publicly and ensure that every person WITH an active clearance knows that further contact with McRaven is a risk to their own clearance. This is and can be done to lower ranks - so what's good for the ganders is also good for the top-level geese.
18. I'd also ensure that the FBI send a couple Counter Espionage types over to visit him and put him on notice.
19. That and ensure that he knows that if caught up in some sort of investigation into leaking classified info, his retirement will be affected (he tip-toes much too close to that line all the time with his bragging on CNN and elsewhere).
20. If he were on the BOD of a company bidding on a contract, and I were on the contract review panel (the source selection board) - I'd sink the proposal.
21. Never liked having a person working "for" me that would go over my head or go public if he/she/it was unhappy with the administration of the contract. Which you know damn well that Brennan would do if it suited him!
22. For Brennan and the rest of the DoJ/FBI/IC cabal who are currently in question - if their clearances are NOT revoked, then somebody's head ought to roll. Being a talking head on TV is not a job that requires a clearance - quite the opposite. But a bit more on McRaven…
23. He was a frickin’ middleman regarding the Bin Laden Raid. He generated no Intel, no orders, no direction, & no influence. Yet he surely took the lead on publicity - huh? FWIW - this is not uncommon in the Spec Ops field OR civil agency field work (domestic or international).
24. Guys like him ride to fame and promotion ceremonies on the backs of operators. Most all generals and admirals are politicians first and last - with career coming before service. Sounds unforgiving, but this is what I have observed in my years of service.
25. I’ve personally known only about a dozen officers I would "follow into hell.” The rest had to be managed in order to keep operational success and team welfare in focus rather than the concerns of officers up the food chain.
26. (Officers were mostly concerned about, "But what will the colonel/captain think?") That is why we all like Mattis - he most often sides with the grunt and getting things done. I would love to hear Mattis' response to McRaven's plea for clearance revocation.
27. Moving on to the legacy media and their coordinated attack on @POTUS yesterday, they are nothing but P R O P A G A N D A. THEY do not miss the point - THEY ignore the point. And in doing so - press on with their narrative.
28. People who think they are merely MISSING the point (e.g., @POTUS ’s continuing claims about false reporting by the #FakeNews) are - in a way - supporting them by proclaiming mere incompetence on their part. I believe, NOT SO. In reality, THEY ARE an enemy of the people!
29. Further, the ownership of the MSM seems to be brain dead. They could be doing so much good, but instead they spin up outrageous BS to sell advertising and make their globalist political masters happy. It must be purposeful!
30. The print media are not dying simply because of the internet or TV; they are making themselves distasteful to the many who would still prefer reading a newspaper whenever and wherever just as they have done habitually for years.
31. And afterward - cleaning their fish on it, which by the way, seems to be all that newspapers are good for given the anti-Trump blather that fills their pages daily!
32. Conclusion: there you have it – Brennan, McRaven and the legacy media all rolled into a single thread/rant! Just like peas in a pod, aren’t they? Are we having peas for dinner? I think that @POTUS will be in the near future. I can’t wait for the banquet, can you? ///The end.
