A former Tesla employee, who worked on their IT infrastructure, is posting in a subforum of a subforum, a little-known place for funy computer forgotten by time. His NDA has expired.
He has such sights to show us. Join me and I will be your silent guide into a world of horror.
(Last post by this user in the forum thread so far. Will add further posts to the Twitter thread.)
(Note: I didn't write any of this, and intentionally cropped out his username because I'm not sure he would want it being spread around on Twitter. All I did was take screenshots and make a thread.
buuuut, if you want to see the things I *do* do...)
as a reminder: this guy's a random poster on a Funny Computer Forum and I have absolutely no way of verifying whether all this is true of not, even though it's be hilarious if it is. Take it with a grain of salt.

tired: "does Linus Tech Tips or iFixit sell the Ultimate Screwdriver?"
wired: "who makes better precision screwdrivers: the Japanese, the Germans, or the Swiss"
after the ifixit toolkit proved to have bits too wide to reach a screw, i am done with bit drivers. i am now trying to figure out whether i want to go with PB Swiss, Wiha, Vessel, or someone else for an electronics screwdriver kit
it's wild how much higher quality tools get when you exclude china and the us from the running
this jackass @kuiperbelt15, who calls himself an "ML Researcher" because he's submitted his own paper to HAL, made a tool that blocks hundreds of accounts without informed consent
it uses "Perspective API" to target people who are "toxic," like queers telling Nazis to fuck off
You can report the API policy violation here. App name is "Furry Block List." AppID is "25453013". The specific violation is that it blocks hundreds of accounts without telling the user who it's blocking, how it decides, or providing a way to reverse it help.twitter.com/en/forms/platf…
This violates Twitter's Developer Terms, which require informed consent from the user before an app takes any action using their account.
last time i played through the campaign i did not yet have coherent political beliefs
the closest thing to "good guys" in this game are a ramshackle anarchists with mostly good intentions but a penchant for senseless violence. everyone else is worse. and every character you play as has betrayed their faction and people for offworld colonial money, or worse
firefox needs to enable full JPEG XL support for everyone, and websites need to start serving it and need to start warning Chrome users that they are receiving inferior images due to their browser's failure to adopt the next-generation and superior standard image format
google is trying to kill the Joint Photographic Experts Group's next-gen format, JPEG XL in favor of their own qualitatively and quantitatively inferior image format, AVIF. They removed the experimental support from Chrome and claimed nobody wanted it.
AVIF needs about 100 times more compute time to encode than JPEG XL for the same quality (and for JXL, a lower filesize)
That means kilotons of extra CO2 being pumped into the atmosphere, just to allow Google to further expand their control over the Web ecosystem.
I've discovered that currently, as of Ubuntu 22.10, @ubuntu distributes a package called "fortunes-off" that is full of homophobia, Hitler quotes, virulent misogyny, racism, and more, for the "fortunes" program
all the text in it is ROT13'd so it doesn't show up on searches
It supplies "offensive" fortunes to fortune, an old piece of fortune-cookie software, so you can configure your Linux computer to have a random chance of printing a swastika or passage from Mein Kampf when you log in.
All the text I posted is pulled out of the .deb that's being distributed on Ubuntu Universe right now. You can check for yourself: packages.ubuntu.com/kinetic/fortun…
