I am sure many of you have seen the video from @NowThisNews.

I wanted to break down what is discussed in the video for non-technical people.
The video features hackers at the DEF CON 26 Voter Village.
The voting machines are ES&S & in use in 24 states.
The machines used at DEF CON's voter village were all purchased off of eBay.

The machine highlighted in the video is an ES&S 650 scanner.

The beginning shows hackers gaining access to the scanner via a serial port in the back.

A serial port is a way of connecting two computer devices together. They plugged a laptop into the serial connection and they had access to an operating system prompt.
As soon as the computer was connected they had access to the machine's operating system ... AS ROOT WITH NO PASSWORD!
You may ask "What's root?"
Having root access to a machine gives you complete administrative control over EVERYTHING on that machine.
Once connected they now have access to what the machine is scanning, they can alter the code on the machine & have it count votes in any way they decide.
If the machine was hacked before the election, they could control the election results to whatever they wanted.
.@MarilynRMarks1 states that voting machines & other voting equipment are left unattended frequently.

During a recent GA election she & two others were left alone with voting machines.
Nobody around, they could have easily hacked into those machines within seconds & left malware
States that use central tabulation, early voting, provisional ballots are all scanned with a high speed scanner like the ES&S 650. This scanner is still used in 24 states.
The results of these scans could be changed with a zip drive. (pictured here). Think post floppy & pre-USB.
This is an operating system that has seen zero security patches since it was originally produced.
That zip disk could contain a virus that could easily be spread to every machine
Once again, ZERO security patches on an OS that is counting & tabulating our votes in 24 states.
While looking for the date the ES&S 650 was originally released, I found this.
verifiedvoting.org/wp-content/upl…
The document is the "owners manual" for the machine, including a diagram of the internals on page 11, how to "zero the totals", How to start the scanner and diagnostics.
The video reveals that the DEF CON attendees were able to download a operating system copy of the ES&S 650 from ....

wait for it ...

A RUSSIAN SERVER!

Yup, a Russian Server.
There are many points for physical security breaches in our election system
Election workers, maintenance, security & storage facility workers just to name a few
This short 5 minute video raises so many questions in my mind & all I see from the Fed Election Commission are excuses
With all this information, our Congress just voted to NOT renew funding for our election security.

The vote was along party lines. Every single Republican in the @GOPHouse decided that the funding is unnecessary.

I & millions of Americans beg to differ.
