They keep introducing austerity measures that deeply impact your every day Puerto Rican, while earning hefty salaries and spending millions of taxpayer money to contractors, most of whom are not from Puerto Rico.

The Rosselló administration is also spending millions in taxpayer money for attorneys and advisers to deal with the island's financial problems. Fun fact: Some of the advisers are former public officials who had a hand in creating the debt crisis!

The only reason I graduated without undergrad debt was because the University of Puerto Rico was so affordable. And even then, I knew plenty of people who struggled financially. Yes, they struggled despite getting financial aid because over 40% of the population lives in poverty.
These changes and cuts to the UPR — and public schools, pensions, Medicaid and so many other things that impact your everyday Puerto Rican — would make more sense if they also applied to those in power. But no, they're lining their pockets with money.

Austeridad, ¿pa' quién?
PS: Apologies because this thread is filled with grammatical errors, just like the Puerto Rican government is filled with corruption ✨
