/ Lots happened in the past 48 hours: Dorsey hearings, Alex Jones banned from Twitter, Barack Obama comes out of the woodwork.
/ All three happened in coordinated fashion, and it's leaving a lot of people confused on how to respond. Let me see if I can shed some light on it.
/ Let's go chronologically, starting with the Dorsey hearings. Namely, that he ostensibly did NOT deplatform Alex Jones along with the other Silicon Valley giants.
/ Jack also referred to Twitter as a "public sphere". Thus admitting it comes with first amendment protections. In California, you can sue a mall under the public sphere clause if they don't let you solicit.
/ Saying all this led us to believe Twitter was actually going to be better. Then the hammer fell.
/ I'll leave you with this tweet about proper compliance.
/ It's important to remember none of this was accidental. The whole thing was coordinated and premeditated, as evidenced by simultaneous headlines.
/ Even if it was a "private sphere" action, it would be illegal collusion against a competitor. Imagine Chevron and Mobil driving out Shell.
/ The thing is, it wasn't. Government officials were pushing these guys to drop Alex Jones well in advance.
/ Other examples are out there. But RIGHT HERE we see government engaging in fraglantly unconstitutional behavior, working to shut out a news source.
/ Don't ever debate this on whether you like Alex Jones or not. The point is, the government has NO RIGHT OR POWER TO RESTRICT POLITICAL SPEECH. That decision is ours as citizens, and ours alone.
/ So why is this all happening? Here's where Obama steps in, and I get just a little Alex Jonesy about it all.
/ One of the reasons I fled the Democrats was realizing Obama likes to speak when nobody's rebutting him. He has all the charisma of a cock addressing his hen audience.
/ That was his farewell address. I'm quite sure he was the first president in history to address only his core supporters and not the entire nation.
I'm not gonna go over the hideous straw men he pulled out today.
/ So let's recap. You have Silicon Valley, a huge supporter of the Obama administration and which enjoyed huge access under his tenure, working to block out the competition before he speaks.
/ the inevitable question is, what do we do about it? It's all so overwhelming. How can we even use the justice system when the government itself is in on it?
/ the good news is, we don't need to do much. Things will work themselves out. The Democrats, for one, are reduced to an astroturf coalition. We are witnessing its counterrevolution.
/ This midterm is critical to defeating it. This will decide whether Silicon Valley and the Obama holdovers continue to press their agenda or are soundly rebuked.
/ To do this, we need to reach out to the rational Democrats. The ones who aren't hysterical. The ones who sit through the "five-minute hate" and don't buy it anymore.
/ In my district, I'm surrounded by them. I talk to them every day. I am in the lion's den. Some, I can't reach. Some, I block. Many I can reach out to.
/ I could certainly use help getting the word out. These next 60 days with proper funding I can send out mailers and put up door hangers to as many people as possible. ronfor37.org/donate
/ If you're reading this, you're probably not in my district. But keep in mind, my incumbent is not campaigning here either. She's campaigning in swing seats.
/ So just remember. If we don't put up a fight here, they're coming to your door.
