#BothamJean was murdered in his apartment by a white woman police officer whose name I've yet to see in print. Ok, press. Protect her identity as long as possible even though she entered the wrong apartment, pulled her gun and shot a man minding his own damn business.
By all accounts, a very good man who was minding his own damn business. #BothamJean earned a bachelor's degree from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. There's a reason you've never heard of it--it's a tiny private Christian college run by the Church of Christ.
And if you've never heard of THAT denomination, well, how can I explain the church I grew up in? Imagine the Puritans--stoic, sober and austere in their worship and expression, in their decorum. #BothamJean attended one of the few CoC unis in the US, on purpose.
That means that #BothamJean probably lived his life as sincerely upright and "respectable" as it is possible for someone who espouses Protestant Christianity to do.
Here's how #BothamJean described himself on LinkedIn: "young professional, engaged in developing a career built upon integrity, dedication and relationships...striving towards leadership in my career, my community and society."
#BothamJean was everything that racists constantly whine that they want black people to be--"respectable," "educated," "industrious," "respectful." He was all of that. And none of it saved him from some white woman cop mistaking his property for hers and murdering him for it.
It's an incredibly classic horror story, actually--I could rattle off a list for an hour of all the times in this country that white women have killed or have gotten black men killed for their own mistakes and an hour wouldn't even be the tip of the iceberg.
And that this white woman--whose name we still don't know, because white supremacy protects white womanhood at all costs (without white womanhood, white supremacy cannot exist)--that she's a police officer is just the cherry on top.
#BothamJean, and every black victim of police brutality, deserve justice. Every last one of them deserve for these police officers to be punished to the fullest extent of criminal law, their careers destroyed, and to be banished from polite society.
#BothamJean was in his own apartment!

Minding his own business!!

There was no call on him!

This bitch walked into HIS apartment and instead of stopping for one goddamn minute to assess the situation LIKE THE PROFESSIONAL SHE IS SUPPOSED TO BE, that bitch MURDERED him.
#BothamJean, #TerenceCrutcher, #SandraBland, #MichaelBrown, #FreddieGray--every black victim of police brutality deserve for this white woman Dallas cop, Betty Shelby, Brian Encinia, Darren Wilson, Caesar Goodson, et al to be financially and socially ruined.
It is LITERALLY the very least we could afford their memories, to make sure these filthy people are no longer empowered with guns and authority and the power of a white supremacist state that does not give a tinker's damn about black lives, no matter how respectable.
So if you have some racist shit in your life who is setting their Nikes on fire or spewing idiocy like "Blue Lives Matter!" like that's ever been debatable at all, tell them about #BothamJean.
#BothamJean. A nice young man with a productive career in front of him and a degree from a quiet little Christian school in Arkansas. He was murdered when a white woman cop mistook his house for hers. And the state is protecting HER identity.
You tell the idiots in your life about #BothamJean. Say his name. Say all their names. Then dare them to tell you some derailing, mindless, racist-apologizing shit like "ALL LIVES MATTER!"
In 1988, N.W.A. released "Fuck Tha Police." That kind of music--profane-- is banned at Harding University.

#BothamJean, a Harding grad, was the picture of respectability. It didn't save him from a white woman cop.

There is a reason N.W.A. wrote "Fuck Tha Police."
