Saturday August 25th will go down as one the saddest days of my life.

Thread.
I woke up like every other Saturday. First thing was field as I'm a big footie lover. I played and had very good game with about 3 goals (striker aye). I went home had my bath and was preparing for a meeting by 2pm (a social media gig) in surulere.
And I was about leaving the house, I was having some final convo with my bro and he was like how far with the Pencil comedian show that's happening the next day (Sunday) August26.

I told him I'm attending and he was like if you'd be coming back late tonight, why not pack stuff..
Then go sleep at Ikotun rather than coming back home (alagbado) since I could easily access VI from Ikotun. I said that's true. ( just if I had known) I then packed my stuff I'd use the next day in a bag and took it along with me to surulere for the meeting. Meeting finished
Around about 7-8. I could have still gotten home early if I wanted to, but as per guy man I decide to have a bottle around there and gist till it was about 9pm or so then I left. I got to oshodi from oshodi on my way to ikotun. There's this friend I just met (name withheld) he
Just chatted me up and we were having normal gist you know.

How far? Where the groove dey? and all that guy talk. Then I was like I have a show tomorrow on the island so I'm not going home. I'm going to sleep at Ikotun so It'd be easier for me & bla bla bla
Dude was like i dey egbeda. we dey chilling for there. You go come? We dey groove and all that. I just thought of it that since egbeda to ikotun is barely 10 mins away I could just go there. Groove small and head home. I mainly sleep at Ikotun if I'd be getting home too late.
You know normal I took egbeda from oshodi. So once I get to egbeda, I'll just take ikotun. The normal easy route. If you ply oshodi to iyana paja regularly, You'd know how terrible the traffic can be some times. Mostly at night. So time was about 10-11 then. I stopped at egbeda
There are about like 3 hotels on that street and its a very open place. So why would I be worried about anything. I got in. He came with one babe like that, never seen her before. In fact it's like the 3rd time I'm ever seeing this my guy. We were at the bar so like 30mins in...
The babe wanted to use the toilet or change her cloth or something. I don't know what to be frank. So they left the bar and went to the room they lodged I guess room. ( they've been there before me). People were all over the event center both girls and guys.
The hotel has a big open bar and an event center. ( I later heard there was a wedding there that afternoon) so it was just me on the table watching ball and sipping my beer. I was hearing noise from the event center you know normal party jams na. Truth is, my mind wasn't there
Over like 15 to 20mins my guy wasn't back neither the babe. My fam at Ikotun were calling me like.. where are you? I was scoping them traffic. Pman called too I scoped him traffic. Omo before I knew what was happening I saw about 10 police men entering the main gate with guns.
I didn't do anything so why would I run. Everybody come forward. Everybody kneel down there. Me and got up and walked up to them to asked what the problem was. You know our Nigerian police before I say 3 lines na better slap jam me. I had to kneel down.
So everyone of us that was at the bar they told us to kneel down and they gathered us together. Went into to the event center and chased everyone outside too.

I swear in my life I've never seen police come in such a large number to attack unarmed people. About 10-15 police vans
At the bar they were about 7 girls the guys at bar were about 10-12. So they chased everyone outside to the bar area very close to the gate where I was. So a lot more guys came out too with some girls.

Frankly speaking, I didn't know what the offense was.
Here's the interesting part.

They told the girls to stay one side. They brought busses, lined up all the guys in a single file and packed everyone male to their station.

They didn't try to see the hotel rooms.
If I knew what the offense was, why would I make this tweet.

Me just felt it was the normal police raiding they do.

No investigations. No questioning. Nothing nothing guys. The next day they started parading us. From egbeda to oshodi task force, later to Commissioner of police and later to anti cultism unit in Gagada.

Within 2-3days. We were taken to the press, taken to court and prison.
The craziest part for me was the person who invited me for a drink at the hotel wasn't in the case. So I knew nobody all through the process

What did they find at the event? Shisha pot and a keggyt shirt (I don't know the correct name) and two tablet of trams in someone's pocket
The aside the trams they saw in one guys pocket there was nothing illegal at the hotel.

You remember I said they lined up only the guys ba? their agenda made them free all the ladies.

I don’t like to remember or talk about my prison experience, the reason why I have been mute about it all through. The life there is sickening! It is an experience that can drain you for life. I’m not talking about prison in general, I’m talking about the the NIGERIAN PRISON.
Nigeria is ruined tbh. And I don’t think we would ever get out of this terrible state till death. I am not being negative, I’m a very optimistic person but I have seen it all trust me.
To start with, I think Nigeria is the only country where you are accused for something and without proof or evidence to show, you can be in jail for the rest of your life. If you know you don’t have families to fight for you, please don’t be at the wrong place at the wrong time.
