It’s Friday and I’ve been working hard this month to revamp how I do things.

Aka a lot of reminiscing and rebuilding.

During this time, I noticed a number of mistakes I’ve made over the years.

Mistakes you’d do best to avoid...

Here’s just a few of them:
#1. Email List

Having an email list may be the most important part of your business.

The thing is insanely valuable.

Yet I still don’t capture many emails from my website.
This is a huge mistake and one I working diligently to change.

And by diligently, I mean investing money into it.
If you’re building an online asset of any form, do what it takes to gather email address.

Future you’s bank account will thank you.
#2. Not Pivoting Quickly

I was a freelance writer for years.

I’d travel around Latin America making a few grand a month and not working too much.

I wasn’t focused on business, becoming a better writer, or raising my rates.
I should have been.

I should have dramatically raised my rates every six months and niched down to areas I could write killer content and copy in.
That’s not what I did.

Once you start seeing some money come in, don’t be afraid to pivot.

Don’t be afraid to make changes that might initially hurt your income, but will help it in the long run.

Once you see money come in.

Don't change pace until you've found some success, fam.

#3. Too Focused on Organic Traffic

Over the years, I’ve been far too focused on organic traffic.

SEO this, keywords that.

Don’t get me wrong…

Organic traffic is insanely valuable if you hit the right keywords.
But there’s many other ways to get eyes on the prize, aka what you want to sell.
Master one form of traffic…

Be it organic, paid, or social media.

Then quickly begin scaling upwards and finding other ways to get eyes on your stuff.
Don’t become wholly reliant on just one source - like I was for years.
#4. Ignoring Social Media

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…

I never knew how valuable Twitter is.

It’s damn near the best place to share ideas in the world.
Smart and driven people use Twitter more than any other social media platform.
Don’t ignore it.

If your target audience has a decent IQ and tends to be more motivated than the average bear, use this platform!
But don’t ignore other areas, either.

YouTube and Instagram can both be exceptionally valuable.

Hell, some have found ways to monetize platforms like Pinterest.
The gist of it...

Every brand, personal or otherwise, should be using these platforms right now.

Punto. Blanco. Periodo.
#5. Lack of Priorities

If you’re going to come around this corner of Twitter, then make sure you have your priorities in line.

The people around here do shit.

They handle business.
If your priorities aren’t in line, you’ll leave feeling like dog shit.

Te lo juro.
But if you’ve prioritized building your brand and online business, the advice around these parts will ensure you grow like never before.
I know because I’ve used the shit I’ve learned around here to damn near 10X my income this year.
So skip the boozing during the week, deactivate that Tinder profile, only hit the gym 3-4X a week and...

Get the fuck to work.
