Cartels change allies and names like the wind blows. But now in Michoacan state and that pacific coast area theres a couple main ones teaming up and fighting each other. Heres a convoy of Los Viagras, LNFM soldiers going to fight CJNG and friends or otherway around.

Police wont go to areas without the Marines in some places now. Then on top of that the few clean ones wont stand a chance standing up to the corrupt cops. Heres mexican marines arresting an Acapulco Police captain. Oh and dont forget the ambushes and assassins.
And as a result of all that you get criminals or vigilantes hogtying people in the back of trucks openly driving around town to scare the locals. All this is like the typical warzones we read about
However, theres no heavy weapons involved, no airstrikes, no threats of intervention or sanctions so all this can stay relatively quite.. just slowly burning for decades till whole regions are lost from government control.
