Yesterday, Michael Avenatti tweeted that Ted Cruz had attacked him, and urged his followers to "chip in to help Beto". THREAD 1 #MichaelAvenatti #FridayFeeling
The link went to an ActBlue form, which positioned donating to Beto as a way to get back at Cruz.

A note at the bottom of the page states that donations would be split evenly.

That's easy to miss, especially for ActBlue Express users who can donate with 1 click. 2
Users could select an amount with 1 tap and donate, missing the fact that by default, the form would split their donation between Avenatti's Fight PAC and Beto's campaign 50/50.

"Make this a monthly recurring donation" was checked by default with Nov. 6th 3 weeks away. 3
Beto's campaign has made it clear that they do not accept PAC donations. This is Beto's official donation form:

There no indication that Avenatti's tandem fundraising effort was approved by Beto's campaign. 4
The Fight PAC website gives next to zero information about how donations to the Fight PAC would be spent.

The PAC *could* be paying consulting fees to Eagan Avenatti.

It's a new PAC so there aren't any FEC filings, no spending history to review. 5
Redstate has already jumped on this this and pointed out that the form defaulted to "Make this a monthly recurring donation", which makes no sense as Nov. 6 is 3 weeks away. 6…
In addition, Avenatti is having BIG financial problems of his own. 7
Last year Michael Tobin, whom the Eagan Avenatti firm owes $28,700 filed a petition forcing the firm into bankruptcy, which stopped arbitration that may have forced Eagan Avenatti to pay $14 million to former employee & lawyer Jason Frank. 8
And last year Avenatti's wife threw him out and changed the locks. He then filed for divorce.

The Superior Court documents show that the Avenatti's enjoy a VERY lavish lifestyle.

His expenses run about $40,000 per month. His wife's run about $25,000. 9
Then there's the failing Tully's Coffee chain that actor Patrick Dempsey sued Avenatti over. 10
Avenatti is also in trouble for filling to make payments for Eagan Avenatti's back taxes 2 months ago. 11
In addition, Avenatti was said to have asked for funds from the liberal PAC American Bridge to help fund Stormy Daniels' legal battle. 12
All of this together makes yesterday's fundraising attempt and Avenatti's Fight PAC look extremely shady and suspect.

Avenatti deleted the tweet & the donation form.

If you want to donate, donate directly to a candidates' campaign through their ActBlue link.

Avenatti lived a life of luxury (including a full-time pilot for his private jet) while owing 1.2 million in back taxes, as well as debts for former businesses he owned.

Avenatti says he divested from Eagan Avenatti within the past year & the debts for that firm are no longer his responsibility.

But in a July 25th bankruptcy hearing, Avenatti testified that Avenatti & Associates, his current firm, now owns 100% stake in Eagan Avenatti. #debt
And today a judge ordered Avenatti to pay former Eagan Avenatti employee & lawyer Jason Frank $4.85 million as a personal judgement.

Frank also won a $10 million judgement against Eagan Avenatti.
