[Secret Time] When I was an AP, I will never forget the sinking feeling of hearing my podcast’s intro music start playing from my co-workers phone during an all staff meeting.
“Do they know?”

“Do they care?”

“Am I in trouble?”
Did they know I was building a business on the side? They did.

Did they care? They didn’t.

Was I in trouble? I wasn’t. But that wasn't the end of it.
Two months later my boss called me into his office.

I figured he wanted to catch me up on something that happened the day before.
[Side Note: Getting called to the pincipal's office, even when you're the assistant principal, is still scary.]
Why nervous? I had just taken a day off work to go to the doctor in the morning and deliver a webinar in the afternoon (but only told him about the doctor’s appointment). It was normal to meet in my boss’s office because, as the Asst. Principal, my office was on the opposite end.
Still, I was being called to the principal’s office and, despite being thirty, that weird feeling never goes away. He asked me to have a seat, clicked his keyboard a few times and slowly turned around his monitor so I could see it.
Staring back at me was my own face ... on my webinar landing page.

"What's this?" he said more telling, than asking.
PANIC. It was the scene in Fight Club where the narrator is being accused of blowing up his own apartment, but doesn't realize he's did, in fact, blow up his apartment.
In a rare moment of intense focus I managed to cram down my emotions and scrape together my best Agent Smith impression, explaining that what I do on my days off is entirely my own business. Which should have been the end of the conversation....
