Months ago, the Washington Post reported that House leaders awarded "a jar of Jelly Belly candy to the member of their caucus" that was found to have worked the hardest selling a controversial plan to cut taxes.
In 2016, Jelly Belly donated nearly $100,000 to federal candidates, according to @OpenSecretsDC. All of them were Republicans.
