BREAKING: Sources say Trudeau's fiscal update today will include a $50,000,000 media slush fund, to be doled out to sympathetic journalists who meet Trudeau's test for "quality". Translation: are you politically aligned? ...2
2. I'm told that this slush fund will be ladled out by three Media Party insiders appointed by @gmbutts to be political gatekeepers. Their social status just shot up: they are about to be lobbied & wooed with Bombardier-level ferocity -- but all of that will be secret.
3. There is no objective standard by which pro-Trudeau media & independent media could be sorted. By every measure, for example, The Rebel exceeds any given local newspaper. The @gmbutts pursers will ensure no critics get funding -- on the right or the anti-Trudeau far-left.
4. Obviously we at @TheRebelTV would never take Trudeau's money, even if it were offered to us -- we're not for sale. Contrast that with the salivating beggars at the corporate media, from @TorontoStar to @globeandmail to even the once-independent @nationalpost. #sad
5. Right now, Trudeau's CBC state broadcaster has a bigger news/political budget, and more staff, than the rest of the private sector political press corps in the entire country, combined. But that's not enough -- @gmbutts wants to colonize the rest, through these gratuities.
6. Here’s the Unifor media union, that represents the political reporters at @CTV, @globalnews, @globeandmail, etc., showing @gmbutts that they’re ready to do the deal: $50,000,000 in cash, and they’ll campaign like hell for Trudeau.
7. I've seen a few perfunctory tweets from journalists, including @davidakin, who know this is wrong, and who say they're slightly uncomfortable with the @UniforTheUnion quid-pro-quo. But aside from a tweet or two, that's it. No attempt to stop it, e.g. through a membership vote.
8. In Canada, most journalists worked for the government, through the CBC. Private sector journalists tailored their work for the day they were laid off, knowing they had to be "CBC ready". Well, that day is now. If they're non-compliant, no cash.

Spoiler: they'll be compliant.
9. I was grossed out when @Paulatics took a Senate patronage reward, especially after denouncing others for doing the same. But the Senate is really a "taskless thanks", a free pension. These media slush fund gatekeepers have real power. And they'll use it as de facto editors.
10. Now, all that's what I've been told. We'll see soon enough. But then again -- maybe you won't see it, except as a small item, with no embarrassing details. If your local newspaper was about to take a million dollar pay-off from Trudeau, do you think they'd brag about it?
