I'm thankful to still be alive.
I wasn't sure last Thanksgiving I would get here.
I'm thankful for my docs, my two nurse practitioners, my physical therapist who have made a harrowing year less so.
I am also grateful my story has helped others tell theirs.
I am thankful for all the love and kindness in my life and for the ability to love others in return.
There aren't really words to express how grateful I am for The Wife™️.
She's simply amazing. Smart, talented, hilarious. 19 years. Fabulous. 💜
I am thankful for my bestie, my friend since I was 17, who has supported me through some of the worst times in my life. She's a social worker, an intersectional feminist, a valiant fighter for abused women and the most compassionate person I've ever known. 💚
I am thankful for all the women and men of color on here who have engaged with me this past year. I hope our interactions have made me a better ally and I promise to continue to listen and learn.
I am thankful for Twitter and this platform.
I am thankful for all the folks who read my work and engage with me fairly.
I am thankful for the input that makes me a more responsive and empathetic and open journalist.
