On Neil deGrasse Tyson rape/sexual harassment accusations:

There are three women. The accusations are varied. He confirms the account of the women accusing him of harassment. More importantly, he gaslights and questions the intelligence of the last accusers...
A) Don't fucking touch a woman's body to look for fucking anything. NEVER! EVER! Keep your hands to yourself, Neil deGrasse Tyson. Even if she has the tattoo of Pluto on her back as a planet. You can't explain that away by saying you got excited like a child.
B) Don't tell an engaged woman you won't hug her cuz you might " want more". Don't invite her then to your house alone for cheese and wine. And if you do both those things, don't find an excuse to touch her in any way - not even if it's a "special handshake". ESPECIALLY THAT!
C) And if your first response to a woman accusing you of raping and drugging her is, "Well, she has very unscientific views", I'm very much likely to think you are not sincere. After all, your focus is less on rejecting the accusations and more in trying to undermine her person.
His response should have been: "On A and B, I'm guilty. I'm sorry. On C, the accusations are false & I will cooperate with the investigation."

The gaslighting, questioning of intelligence, blaming the victim in B with, "Oh, she was always trying to hug me.." Very predator-like.
more in a second. Gotta get on my bus.
Alright. Let's tackle his statement he posted on Facebook more in depth. The first woman accuses him of improperly touching her in 2009. This is not an accusation anymore. Neil deGrasse Tyson personally corroborates this. Here's a snippet from his Facebook post about the issue:
When it comes to the second more recent accusation from 2018, Tyson personally lets us know that he not once but on several occasion told this woman that he might be sexually interested in her despite knowing she was engaged and he married. Here:
He then invites this person over alone for wine and cheese and touches her. She was ALONE in his house. She had little power to say no to know him touching her hand. She also would have had a hard time saying no to going. She was scared for her job.
However, compare the two statements where Tyson questions the intelligence of the woman who accuses him of rape because she believes in "non-scientific" stuff. But then he excuses him touching this woman because of something equally unscientific he learned from "a Native elder".
However, what really makes me most suspicious of Tyson is what he says at the very beginning of his post about the accusations. What the fuck is the "me-too climate" and why is THAT responsible for you improperly touching at least two women you admit to and not you, @neiltyson?
#MeToo isn't a "climate". It's a movement that attempts to get justice for the 1 in 5 women who face rape during their lifetime in America, @Neiltyson. As a "public intellectual" you should know this important statistic. If not, here. Educate yourself:…
Here's the most important and damning bit about that study, @NeilTyson, since you, too, are accused of raping a fellow student. 90% of campus rapes go unreported. and two-thirds of the men do it again and again. #MeToo is also about making these facts known to everyone.
Most important, #MeToo, is about trying to protect women - and MEN - who come forward to accuse their rapists, @NeilTyson. Maybe you don't know, but Christine Ford has had to move 4 times since testifying. One of Roy Moore's accusers had her house burned down.
#MeToo is about recognizing the costs to coming forward and seeking justice for rape victims, @neiltyson. Especially when the accused are powerful men, who like you, immediately attempt to portray the real pain of rape victims as an attempt to capitalize on your popularity:
The latest research on "false reports" of rape is 2.1%-5.9%. That is compared to 1 in 10 people actually reported cases of rape.…
The worst statistic is that out of 1,000 rapes, only about 5 rapists ever go to prison. That's 0.5%. Even if we double or triple count because some of the rapes may have been committed by the same person, it's still a shamefully low number.…
Well, THANK GOD at least those rapists who are sent to prison get their due for committing such heinous crimes, right?

Actually, no. Go ahead and read about Jeffrey Epstein or Mr. Brock Turner right here. He walked out in 3 months.
#MeToo is fighting to make sure people don’t get 3 months for raping women or able to cut a plea deal to serve less than two years for raping children. #MeToo isn't a climate,
@neiltyson. It's a movement for justice. You are in your situation because of YOU. Take responsibility.
@neiltyson So now a fourth woman has come forward to accuse Neil deGrasse Tyson of sexually harassing her. And it robbed her of an important career opportunity. :/
