turns out tumblr was just preparing for the US SESTA / FOSTA laws that will come in effect soon

nsfw is bout to get banned on pretty much all of western internet and apple's already blocking porn channels on telegram.

this is the end of pron and no one even knows it's coming
i'm very curious as to how twitter will handle this considering a LARGE portion of its users are from japan (remember - jack even met up with abe 'n all) and a lot of their nsfw artists rely on twitter rather heavily.
spookiest part about all this is that literally NO ONE is talking about it outside for a few select people. and now it's kinda too late since the law was passed almost a year ago and no one can do anything about it.
it's nsfw artists and sex workers we're talking about. doubt they'd have the physical numbers or public support to start rallying.

the only way there could be any public opposition is if youtube and twitter pull a twitter pull a facebook and ban any reference of sexuality.
(i.e. even saying i'm gay or describing preferences)
we have a chance against article 13 because it at least gained enough negative press and would be near impossible to implement. but this?

how do we fight something that's a few months away? how do we even advertise this? "save furry porn"?

man, things are royally fucked.
i know this probably won't get much traction but it's important to add that it's not just sex work that's at risk now. this law allows the owners and staff of any website to be considered criminals for the offenses of the site's users.
all it'll take is a few reports in a way similar to how 4chin neckbeards are reporting sex workers and thots on snapchat to the irs.

anyone will be able to just mass-report a site that could be considered "illegal" by the new standards.
even those not interested in pornography need to help combat this because it's possible most websites will follow facebook's suite and ban all form of sexual discussion, meaning LGBT groups are pretty much done for.

totally forgot to link the petition:
stopsesta.org
i feel like i need to clarify smth
i did not mean to make it seem like the govt have a puritan conspiracy
i'm just saying that these policies could potentially lead to further removal of nsfw content on social media platforms. it's a bad policy, not a conspiracy
im no fearmonger
