It turns out that the IG recovered thousands of missing Strzok/Page texts, and that "In view of the content of many of the text messages between Strzok and Page" the IG asked the Mueller to turn over Strzok and Paige's devices they used during their time on the witch hunt. Huge!
Strzoks phone had been reset to factory defaults and given to another agent, so they weren't able to recover anything, dang it. Muellers said they reviewed it though and nothing bad was there (lol) so it's all good right? Pages phone wasn't even reviewed by them before reset. Wow
Nice, Horowitz reviewed the Special Counsel email for Strzok and Page
Horowitz recovered 9.311 text messages from Strzok and 10,760 text messages from Page, most to each other and most of them duplicates BUT some were only recovered from Strzoks phone, some from Pages phone, and thousands of other messages without dates and times were recovered!
During its final round of quality assurance checks, the OIG discovered nearly 75,000 text messages from Strzoks phone and 52,000 from Page's phone, spanning the entire time the devices were in use by them. Including the gap period. Hot damn!
Page's "He's not ever going to become president, right? Right?!" text was turned over by the FBI but not included in those enterprise databases, while Strzok's response "No, No he's not. We'll stop it" was in the enterprise database but not turned over by the FBI. Crazy stuff!
Yeah that's pretty blatant. Unreal how illegal this entire witch hunt is from start to finish.
Horowitz determined that there didn't seem to be any patterns or reasoning behind the missing text messages that were found in one place or the other. The enterprise database and the FBI collection tool both had political messages, work related, personal content etc missing.
There is no way to know if all the text messages were recovered, because some text were found on Page's phone but not Strzok's and vice versa, and in the enterprise database but not the FBI database and vice versa. What a freaking mess.
Horowitz found no evidence (and neither did a contractor) that Strzok and Page attempted to circumvent the collection system. They say say that it requires a high level of sophistication, admin access they probably didn't have, and then REDACTED lol. I'm guessing REDACTED is why
Verizon only stores text messages for three to five days and sometimes up to seven, so they weren't able to provide any text messages at all.
lol Strzok and Page were still texting on their FBI devices while assigned to the Special Counsel.
Page left the Special Counsel on July 15th, 2017. She didn't give anyone her phone and said she left it on a bookshelf. That phone was factory reset on July 31, 2017 but no record of who did it, and not found again until September 2018.

Late July is when Strzok was fired
This is nuts! Mueller isn't even conceding that Strzok texted AT ALL on his phone. They don't remember if Strzok texted (even though he was fired for texting) but they remember some other guy on the same day hadn't texted at all. Are you freaking kidding me? lol wow.
The DOJ doesn't retain text messages and also (according to Rosenstein's office upon reviewing this report) routinely factory resets devices and reissue them. What a mess.
That's the end of the report. OIG says it doesn't look like there were intentional mass text message deletions and provided reasoning as to why. Makes sense to me. They also said they recovered texts with content alarming enough to request their special counsel phones and email
The fact that this report dropped OUT OF NOWHERE at the same time all these Mueller sentencing memo's are coming out means this is almost over for sure. Now, on to Appendix 1
Unsurprisingly, the FBI loved this report because it doesn't find that anyone intentionally deleted messages and it explains how the gaps happened, and provides evidence to back up that the content of messages didn't seem to be a factor.
And that's the end of it. Seems like Horowitz has been busy! This report was issued after Rosenstein's office and the FBI had a chance to review and make recommendations too, and still didn't leak. I wonder when the next shoe is dropping? /end
