Weekly Standard closing its doors. Always a noteworthy occasion whenever a media outlet dies. archive.is/diNGV

Might do a thread here with statements from their (now former) staff, or something.
John Podhoretz (@jpodhoretz), Contributing Editor of the Weekly Standard, will be a Twitter worth watching for play-by-play details on this.
AND right as I say that, Podhoretz tweets something SPICY, and has now deleted it. "Ryan McKibben is a filthy piece of shit."
This Podhoretz guy put out a piece re: Weekly Standard commentarymagazine.com/politics-ideas…

I see Podhoretz added more thoughts about Weekly Standard after his initial heated reaction yesterday.

(their blog post seems to have gotten longer too commentarymagazine.com/politics-ideas…)
Other staff, like Richard Starr, aren't as verbose as Podhoretz is in light of Weekly Standard's closure.

But the tweets they do put out speak enough in reflection of how much they cared for their work.
It's interesting watching the different reactions from Weekly Standard peeps in light of the outlet's closing. I guess everyone grieves in different ways.
A theme I see though is the former Weekly Standard staffers aren't afraid to show the exact same of "respect" to Clarity Media, as Clarity had given to them in the first place.
But what I'm seeing in regards to that is that Weekly Standard's legacy of "respect" is hit-or-miss. Some think the outlet's run was admirable, others thought they were huffing their own farts.
