I don’t want to have a future
where the planet I am living on
has seas, acidic and rising,
and an atmosphere
full of pollution and space litter.
I don’t want to see all these species go extinct.
People say I shouldn’t be doing this.
Really I kind of agree,
it is not my fault,
and the adults should really be taking responsibility.
But they are not,
so why not protect the planet if no one else is?
I went to the BBC in London,
asking Tony Hall to have a change of heart
and declare a climate emergency on the BBC.
It’s been over a month
and they still have not done this!!
@ExtinctionR is asking that the BBC listens.
We want the head of the BBC, Tony Hall, to meet with #ExtinctionRebellion to figure out how to tell the truth about the climate and ecological emergency on TV, on the radio, and on the Internet.
As I said when I visited the BBC on 20th November in London, we want the BBC to declare a climate and ecological emergency.
We want the BBC to make the climate emergency the top story every hour of every day, like @GretaThunberg says.
We want the BBC to stop giving any money to fossil fuel companies or any banks that will give money to fossil fuel companies. How else will they #KeepItInTheGround??
We want the BBC to be zero carbon by the time I’m 16 years old. That’s 2025.
We want the BBC to do a report on how green they are every single year.
We want the BBC to be a leader for the media in the world and show them how to report on this emergency.
We want the BBC to make sure that everyone knows who the people are that are talking about climate in the news. Are they making money from not telling the truth?? We only want the truth FROM NOW ON!!
[Die-in every 8 min]
That’s about eight species EVERY SINGLE HOUR.
One day, I want to be either a politician or a journalist.
I want to make the news or report the news.
