The cognitive dissonance between Feminism and the promotion of a religion that oppresses women, of which the hijab is a symbol, is deafening between my ears. breitbart.com/national-secur…
I grew up in a religious sub-culture that places shame on women for the shape of their bodies and blamed them for a mans private thoughts. It placed the onus on the woman to adjust her dress accordingly, effectively teaching me that someone else’s problems were mine to bear.
This subjugation was mild compared to what Islam requires of the Muslim woman; its effects on my soul and my psyche were deep and I’ve had to do a lot of healing around this.

Why doesn’t feminism stand up for the oppression of Muslim women?
Why is the wearing of a hijab glorified? It literally makes NO sense.
