/ With 2018 drawing to an end we are looking back at a year with many ups and some downs.
/ In March 2018 the #citizensrights part of the Withdrawal Agreement was finalised.

Though not optimal, especially for our friends the @BritishInEurope who will lose onward movement, for the first time since the referendum EU citizens in the UK had some form of certainty.
/ Towards the end of 2018 the threat of #NoDealBrexit was growing though. The #citizensrights certainty provided by the Withdrawal Agreement slipping away slowly. Replaced by ‘unilateral promises’ of fewer rights with lesser future protection.
/ 2019 will be a year of beginnings. The beginnings of ends. 2019 will see the official roll-out of Settled Status. The beginning of the process to bring 3.6m EU citizens under the full control of the Home Office and away from the protection of the EU.
/ 2019, with the roll-out of Settled Status, will be the beginning of a process that will open up 3.6m EU citizens to the #HostileEnvironment by 2021.

In 2018 Windrush showed us with all brutality the consequences of the #HostileEnvironment when getting it wrong.
/ 2019 will also mark the beginning of the end of Freedom of Movement with all its benefits and protections. Not just for EU citizens living in the UK but for all 65m UK citizens.
/ One thing is for sure though, we will not give up the fight. 2019 might be a sad year in many ways but we have gathered great political support across all parties and we are confident that we will make a difference.
/ 2019 will see our judicial review of the immigration exemption in the Data Protection Act. A case that will help not only EU citizens but every migrant to access data the Home Office is holding on them.
/ In 2019 we will continue fighting and you can help us to #RescueOurRights by supporting us here:
/ May 2019 be a happy year for all of us and everyone who supports us in our vital work. Enjoy the last hours of 2018 be jolly and maybe for a few hours just forget about the sorrows of the last 2 ½ years.
