A brief tale of love and solidarity and friendship:

So my friend had a full breakdown on Christmas and flew to where I am and I have spent the last six days or so in some intense situations pulling him back from the brink.

Yesterday his brain cleared and he’s back to himself.
When I am under prolonged stress I develop flu-like symptoms, usually including a pneumatic cough that sounds exactly like death. Also this week was supposed to be my relaxing self-care catch-up-on-work kid-free time

And he’s just realized I traded my own health for his.
So this morning he looks at me and says “princess, today you don’t leave this apartment” and he puts me on the most amazing lounging mattress in front of a big screen tv and all I am allowed to do today is watch movies and order coffee, which he is insisting he’ll go get.
*that* is what love and solidarity look like. Friends healing each other in turn to their capacity, and understanding what we cost each other, and mitigating
And when I tell you that if you want to beat fascism you will do it by organizing radically and locally

This is an extreme example but this is what I mean by it.
