1) The forces brewing against "Big Tech" are numerous and varied. They include a public backlash (not by any means a tsunami yet) against violations of privacy and political preferences; a stultified Apple which has gone from making three breakthrough products in about 25 years
1) contd . . to simply reconfiguring phones and adding apps; to a politically correct climate that sooner or later MUST decrease innovation; to a very real threat of significant federal regulation; to the problem of China.

2) With China, you have a classic case of capitalists
2) contd. thinking they can "do business" with a totalitarian/communist state. Recently the ChiComs started to push back. Apple was shocked. To the Chicoms, there is NO "globalism." There is China, and there is America. They will be winners or losers. To them there is no win/win.
3) But while the reaction to tech impositions in every part of our lives hasn't completely boiled over yet, don't be fooled. It's coming. There is nothing Luddite about it-It is the natural reaction of people ceding control of daily life functions to someone . . or something else
4) This will result in not the elimination or absence of tech, but severe restrictions people and governments put on its ability to invade our daily lives.

5) Meanwhile, if politically FANG doesn't rapidly police itself (won't happen. Companies seldom do) gubment will.
6) I'm not ready to "predict" this yet, but I won't be at all surprised if Trump doesn't make regulation of Big Tech and Big Pharma the twin pillars of his 2020 reelection bid.

7) Yesterday's news about new Big Pharma price increases is the latest stupid move from this industry
8) It is simply NOT feasible to keep researching new advanced drugs when virtually no one can afford the existing costs of MS, some diabetes, RA, and drugs for other debilitating diseases. Who can afford $150,000 a year in drug costs?

And if Big Pharma thinks they can evade . .
8) contd. . . regulation by throwing out a few "rebates" to a handful of users, they are not facing reality. We are living so much longer that it is impossible to afford most of these drugs at current prices.

This will be a major fight on all sides when it comes.
