Human trafficking is the trade of humans for the purpose of forced labor, sexual slavery or commercial sexual exploitation for the trafficker or others. This may encompass providing a spouse in the context of forced marriage or the extraction of organs or tissues - #HarvestOrgans
Sex trafficking is human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation, including sexual slavery. The sex exploitation is based on the interaction between the trafficker selling a victim to customers to perform sexual services.
Human trafficking is the vilest of crimes & almost half of the victims in this crime industry are below the age of 18. Another damning statistic shows that 25% of the children sampled (children who had run away) had dealt with sexual exploitation and sex trafficking.
And yes, most of the human trafficking victims in the world are used for sexual purposes, which strips away their youth and innocence and leaves them with memories that no person, let alone a child, should ever have to experience.
In fact, @ICE is one of the primary federal agencies responsible for combating human trafficking. According to the U.S. Department of State, the United States is a destination country for thousands of men, women, and children trafficked from all areas of the world.
