OK, sometimes people ask me for recommendations for books to learn more about Judaism, or certain aspects of Judaism. I recently put together this book list to do some of that work. Here you go, in thread form. 1/x
It's not comprehensive, it doesn't have everybody's book, and your fave might be missing. I tried to focus on stuff that was going to give an expansive view of things, on women, queer, JOC voices, and that was above all accessible to the intelligent lay reader.
In the interests of full disclosure: there are a few books on this list that I have not personally read, but that people I trust recommend strongly. If there is something problematic on here (different from: not my theology, etc), I'd be glad to know.
