EU citizens describe that they feel suicidal because of the uncertainty Brexit has caused them.
Ms Rodgers chooses to publicly call them "wimps".
I call that out ()
Ms Rodgers accuses me of stressing people out & then questions the suicidal thoughts. 1/
This is another tragic illustration of what I wrote about recently: the Brexit absolution. Brexiters - and Lexiters - are not up for owning what the Brexit / Lexit they want has unleashed. They want to cherry-pick a reality - one they like. bellacaledonia.org.uk/2018/12/29/the… 2/
But I really am lost for words on this occasion. How someone can be so casual about suicide, can choose to insult people on the back of their anxieties, despair and distress... Brexit has long since brought out the worst in people. But this really is something else. 3/
And I am saying that partly because this is what brought me out of my Twitter slow-lanenig for a minute. As many of you have rightly guessed (thanks for the DMs) I chose to go on that slow lane for a while because of yet another incident. I am sick of it. Truly. 4/
But I am even more sick of all this being dismissed / talked away by those who caused it. EU citizens, I personally, we do not have the luxury of cherry-picking. We are forced to own the fallout of the EU referendum because it is our life now - from the latest incident I did 5/
not choose to find myself in, to EU citizens who now have suicidal thoughts. I've said this before but let me say it again: enough is enough. Brexiters & Lexiters: you own all of this. Stop claiming it doesn't exit. Stop cherry-picking. Stop the insults. Own your Brexit. 6/
