What happened yesterday is a disgrace to the ruling elite, to the APC, but especially Bola Tinubu.
So we blame them all.
In Lagos, the power elite has maintained its hold on power with thuggery as a major weapon in its arsenal.
This is why routine Ward, LGA and State Congresses last year in the APC turned violent with one death too many.
Since then, he never looked back.
It was perhaps bearable when they were opposition but power has brought out fresh madness.
This happened in Osun State.
We saw how they did so against indigenes and residents of Osun State in #OsunDecides2018.
This is condemnable.
What Tinubu has done to Yorubas is an erosion of Omoluabi values.
These are the gangs of Lagos, nurtured by Bola Tinubu for his own selfish political goals.
Ironically, PDP won the HOR seat from this same Oshodi.
If an APC Rally of its own members in an APC state could become so bloody and lead to deaths and injuries, what is the fate of ordinary voters who are not APC members?
...and Tinubu is Osinbajo’s benefactor.
But we as a society also have a share in this blame - why are we laughing?
It is ultimately their prerogative to do so but these things add to the power that these thugs have over the society at large as it legitimises their behaviour.
Violence is Violence and should be punished - political violence is never excusable.
And some of us find it funny: Emmanuel Oladesu, a journalist, is still being treated for gunshot wounds - because he went to an APC Rally.
We must continue to set the standard publicly for future leaders to learn from and perhaps hold up when they come to power.
APC should go and cover its face in shame.
That such names have become ingrained in the memories of even normal humans is a problem - see newspapers putting out the news as though the fellow is a celebrity whom everyone should be familiar with.
APC brings out the worst of Nigeria because it is a party without shame, a party of hypocrisy and a party of thugs - at least in Lagos as the violence yesterday proved to us.
