The Robben Island they never told you about.

1981 I was about in Grade 11 when PW BOTHA came to our School to recruit grade 11's &  grade 12's to go work at a factory.
He was never specific what kind of Job we were going to do nor the lacation of the factory.
Back then when the Government said "Jump", you didn't even get the chance to ask "how high", you jump bhuti.
They'd take 600 students from each class every month. We were taken to a place in Durban that used to be a Mortuary for Crocodiles when South Africa was still colonised by the Chinese before the Europeans.
We arrived on Friday for induction and medicals,
For medicals a Doctor would just place his hand on your forehead to feel your temperature, if your forehead was hot he'd throw hot water on it, said he was killing fire with fire.
The building was devided into 3 divisions, The Crocodile Mortuary,  the Cotton Wool Factory and the Prison cells which was previously owned by " Mr Robben Island & Sons".
The Crocodile side still belonged to the Chinese, the Cotton Wool side was were we were allocated,  we were making blankets for prisoners, but at that time there was only 5 Prisoners Only new this one guy from Tzaneen who was doint 10 years for Hijacking DJ Sbu's Mo'fire truck.
The Prison side was rough, food was not served to anyone, they had a machine like X-Ray that they used to look through your stomach if you hungry or not.
Prisoners who misbehaved were taken to the Baboon camp to be tortured by Baboons, there was a Wall with a Hole in it, on the other side were Baboons.
They'd stick their heads through the hole and let the Baboons slap them for half an hour before pulling them back. After the tortured their faces would have bruises from Baboon nail scratches.
One day a Prisoner was taken for torture, then a prison warder who placed him through the hole fell asleep and woke up 3 hours later, when he pulled him out to find a prisoner dead😢, his head had fallen off to the Baboon side.
That's when Interpol shut down the Prison and PW BOTHA was fired. We all lost our Jobs.
Then replied when i heard Mr Robben Island & Son's had opened another place in Cape Town, now know as Robben Island Prison.
Black People hated me cause i was the only one who was rehired, they burnt my house down to ashes twice in one day, i was scared to even sleep in that house that night.
At the factory i was in charge of the 46 Section which Tata Mandela was brought in a year after, we became very good friends, i sometimes would let him use my cell to WhatsApp Zinzi.
The 46664 wasn't his cell number, it was a Barcode i had place on his blankets so i wouldn't mix it with other Prisoners blankets.
Then in 1982 he was transferred to Pollsmoor Prison and given the Prison number 220/82. "Prisoner 46664" continues to be used as a reverential title for him because he loved my Blankets.
