2015, people. Alerts were sent by our ally intel services in 2015!! “GCHQ first became aware in late 2015 of suspicious “interactions” between figures connected to Trump & known or suspected Russian agents.” gu.com/p/69exm/stw
"The European countries that passed on electronic intelligence – known as sigint – included Germany, Estonia and Poland. Australia, a member of the “Five Eyes” spying alliance that also includes the US, UK, Canada and New Zealand, also relayed material, one source said."
"They [the European agencies] were saying: ‘There are contacts going on between people close to Mr Trump and people we believe are Russian intelligence agents. You should be wary of this.’

“The message was: ‘Watch out. There’s something not right here.’

20-fricking-15.
"Per one account, GCHQ’s head, Robert Hannigan, passed material in summer 2016 to CIA chief John Brennan. The matter was deemed so sensitive it was handled at “director level”. Brennan used GCHQ information & intel from other partners to launch major inter-agency investigation."
"Another source suggested the Dutch and French spy agency, the General Directorate for External Security or DGSE, were contributors. European allies were supplying information about people close to Trump meeting with Russians in Britain, the Netherlands and in other countries."
More about Estonia's role:

news.err.ee/120326/newswee…
“About that time [2016], a Trump associate met with pro-Putin member of Russian parliament at building in Eastern Europe maintained by Rossotrudnichestvo, agency under Ministry of Foreign Affairs charged with administering language, education and support programs for civilians."
A quick Google search results in Rossotrudnichestvo in.... Prague.

More from previous linked article:

"At one point, Trump’s inexplicable behavior had led top Russian officials to believe he would be forced to withdraw from the race because of his mental state and apparent unsuitability to be president."
"Kremlin officials feared they could not predict what impact on Russia would be should Trump step aside. Moscow decided to stop forwarding docs obtained by its hackers to Wikileaks." Then meeting between Trump associate & Putin ally in "Eastern European city" took place.
"Western intelligence official said that surveillance of the meeting was conducted by or on behalf of the Estonian Information Board (EIB), Estonia’s foreign intelligence service."
This excellent BBC article by @paulwoodbbc expands the information:

bbc.com/news/world-us-…
"Last April [2016], the CIA director was shown intelligence that worried him. It was - allegedly - a tape recording of a conversation about money from the Kremlin going into the US presidential campaign."
A lawyer- outside DOJ but familiar w/case - told me that 3 of Trump's associates were subject of inquiry. "But it's clear this is about Trump," he said.

I spoke to all three of those identified by this source. All of them emphatically denied any wrongdoing."
"Hogwash," said one. "Bullshit," said another. Of the two Russian banks, one denied any wrongdoing, while the other did not respond to a request for comment."
Again in 2015 {!) The badass Dutch intelligence service AIVD caught the Russians hacking into the DNC, the White House, and the State Dept in real time:

nos.nl/nieuwsuur/arti…
"Intelligence hackers from Dutch AIVD (General Intelligence and Security Service) had penetrated the Cozy Bear computer servers as well as a security camera at the entrance of their working space, located in a university building adjacent to the Red Square in Moscow."
"Over the course of a few months, they saw how the Russians penetrated several U.S. institutions, including the State Department, the White House, and the DNC. On all these occasions, the Dutch alerted the U.S. intelligence services."
"Together w/ another group of RU hackers (Fancy Bear), Cozy Bear is held responsible for cyberintrusion of DNC. In April 2016, Fancy Bear accessed D.C. servers of Democrats; Cozy Bear had done so in summer of 2015. They were caught red-handed by Dutch, who again alerted the U.S."
Great summary article by the great @20committee in the Observer from May 2018:

observer.com/2018/05/what-d…
"The counterintelligence investigation of Donald Trump was kicked off by not one, not two, but multiple SIGINT reports which set off alarm bells inside our Intelligence Community."
"In other words, Western intelligence agencies that were eavesdropping on the Kremlin and its spies—not Trump or any of his retinue—heard numerous conversations about Trump and his secret Russian connections."
🔥"By the time that Donald Trump officially accepted the Republican nomination in mid-July 2016, “We knew we had a Russian agent on our hands,” as a senior NSA official put it to me recently." 🔥
“Kremlin talked about Trump like he was their boy, & their comments weren’t always flattering.” Those above-top-secret reports left no doubt that Russians were subverting our democracy in 2016—and that Team Trump was a witting participant in the Kremlin’s criminal conspiracy:
“Trump and his kids knew what they were doing, and who they were doing it with,” the official explained."
Australia: Papadop blabbed to the wrong random guy in a London bar.

theguardian.com/us-news/2018/m…
"The Australian government allowed its former ambassador to the UK, Alexander Downer, to take part in a “highly unusual” meeting with FBI agents in 2016 to share evidence he possessed about Russian meddling in the US presidential election campaign, according to new reports."
"The [NYT] had previously reported that in May 2016, Downer had a drink in London with Trump’s then foreign policy adviser, George Papadopoulos, who allegedly told Downer Russia had dirt on Hillary Clinton."
"The Australian government reportedly passed that information to US authorities in July 2016 after a cache of emails from the Democratic campaign was released."
"NYT reported that w/in hours of FBI opening its investigation into Trump campaign’s ties to Russia in summer of 2016, it had flown 2 agents to London to meet Downer for highly secretive interview.

It has not previously been reported that Downer had been interviewed by the FBI.
Spain: @Isikoff 's explosive article from May 2018:

yahoo.com/news/trumps-so…
"The FBI has obtained secret wiretaps collected by Spanish police of conversations involving Alexander Torshin, a deputy governor of Russia’s Central Bank who has forged close ties with U.S. lawmakers and the National Rifle Association, that led to a meeting with Donald Trump Jr"
"José Grinda, who spearheaded investigations into Spanish organized crime, said officials were provided transcripts of wiretapped conversations bet. Torshin & Alexander Romanov, convicted RU $ launderer. On wiretaps, Romanov refers to Torshin as “El Padrino,” the godfather." 😬
“Just a few months ago, wiretaps of these phone conversations were given to the FBI,” Grinda said. Asked if he was concerned about Torshin’s meetings with Donald Trump Jr. and other American political figures, Grinda replied: “Mr. Trump’s son should be concerned.”
"Despite suspicions about ties to RU $ laundering, Torshin continued to travel frequently to U.S. & even showed up as part of RU delegation in Feb 2017 to Nat. Prayer Breakfast, where he was to meet w/Trump. (Meeting was canceled after NSC officials raised concerns about it.)"
So, Trump was scheduled to meet with the Padrino, or Godfather, of Russian money laundering at the 2017 Natonal Prayer Breakfast until the National Security Council put a stop to it. I didn't catch that when this story first broke...
"American lawyer told me he was approached by Cambridge Analytica (firm who did Trump's campaign data) employee after election. They had Clinton campaign emails more than a month before they were published by WikiLeaks: ‘What should I do?’ Take it to Mueller, the lawyer replied."
A tidbit I missed from 2017 in the firehose of crazy news - Russian spy in US named in Steel dossier verified:

bbc.com/news/world-us-…
"The BBC has learned that US officials "verified" a key claim in a report about Kremlin involvement in Donald Trump's election - that a Russian diplomat in Washington was in fact a spy."
"At one point [Steele] wrote: "A leading Russian diplomat, Mikhail KULAGIN, had been withdrawn from Washington at short notice because Moscow feared his heavy involvement in the US presidential election operation… would be exposed in the media there."
"There was no diplomat called Kulagin in the Russian embassy; there was a Kalugin.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said Kalugin was head of the embassy's economics section."
"But sources I know & trust have told me the US government identified Kalugin as a spy while he was still at the embassy.

A retired member of a US intelligence agency told me that Kalugin was being kept under surveillance before he left the US."
Our German allies are using the "T" word:

sueddeutsche.de/politik/gipfel…
"Even worse is the cowardly vanity of all the people in Washington who know what the President is doing, and who are looking away from fear or opportunism and continue working with or for him. They are the accomplices of a traitor."
Speaking of signals intelligence (SIGINT), let's don't forget that our own intel agencies had Manafort legally wiretapped before and after the election:

Since Manafort chose Pence, Pence led the transition team, and they talked on the phone constantly during the transition:

Remember in May of 2017 when we found out that Jared Kushner had tried to set up a secret back channel for communication with the Russian embassy?

washingtonpost.com/world/national…
"Kushner & Russia’s ambassador to Washington discussed possibility of setting up a secret & secure communications channel between Trump’s transition team & Kremlin, using RU diplomatic facilities to shield their pre-inauguration discussions from monitoring."
"Ambassador Sergey Kislyak reported to his superiors in Moscow that Kushner, son-in-law and confidant to then-President-elect Trump, made the proposal during a meeting on Dec. 1 or 2 [2016] at Trump Tower, according to intercepts of Russian communications."
Former CIA director said, if true, Kushner had been engaged in espionage.

thehill.com/blogs/blog-bri…
"Former CIA director John McLaughlan on Friday responded to reports that Trump's son-in-law & senior adviser Jared Kushner discussed setting up secret communications line between Trump's transition team & Kremlin, saying if such reports are true, it would be considered espionage.
Remember in January 2018 when the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) subpeonaed Kushner's companies for offering the Chinese visas in exchange for investments?

theguardian.com/us-news/2018/j…
"Jared Kushner’s business dealings are under renewed scrutiny amid reports that the US’s top financial watchdog is looking into an investment-for-visa program run by the Kushner family’s real estate company and questions have been raised about his business dealings in Israel."
"On Sunday, the Wall Street Journal confirmed that the real estate empire run by the family of Donald Trump’s senior adviser and son-in-law had received a subpoena from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requesting information." What ever happened with that?
"Last year, the Guardian reported on an event staged by the Kushner family in China to woo wealthy investors into luxury developments, including One Journal Square, two skyscrapers currently being built in New Jersey, with the prospect of receiving US green cards in return."
China has flown under the radar, but I believe when all is revealed that we will see troubling evidence that Trump associates have been engaged in illegal activities there as well.

vanityfair.com/news/2018/01/h…
"United States counter-intelligence officials had warned White House senior adviser Jared Kushner that Deng might be using her friendship with him and his wife, Ivanka Trump, to advance Chinese interests in the U.S."
From the increasingly-accurate Steele Dossier:

"-Suggestion from source close to TRUMP and MANAFORT that Republican campaign team happy to have Russia as media bogeyman to mask more extensive corrupt business ties to China and other emerging countries."
Let's not forget Maria Butina, now reportedly making a plea deal in re: her espionage charges:

nypost.com/2018/07/16/rus…
Recall upthread when SIGINT from Spain intercepted Torshin being referred to by his contact as the "Godfather" of Russian money laundering. The Spanish prosecutor said Don Jr. should be "very worried." Butina is Torshin's protege.
"In one instance, investigators obtained email written by one of unnamed Americans connected to Butina in which individual boasts that “VERY private line of communication” has been secured between Kremlin & key American political party through unnamed “gun rights organization.”
So when one wonders why the GOP hasn't done anything about Trump's obvious and multiple illegal actions, perhaps Godfather of Russian $laundering > mentors Butina>who infiltrates the NRA>who launders Russian money> then donates to GOP in Congress & to Trump campaign itself?
Remember in May of 2017 - this amazing article from @adamentous of WaPo in which Paul Ryan and Kevin McCarthy are caught on tape stating they believe Trump is paid by the Russians?

washingtonpost.com/world/national…
"A month before Trump clinched GOP nom, one of his closest allies in Congress — House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy — made politically explosive assertion in private conversation w/fellow GOP leaders: Trump could be beneficiary of payments from Russian President Vladimir Putin."
"There’s two people I think Putin pays: Rohrabacher & Trump,” McCarthy (R-Calif.) said, according to recording of June 15, 2016, exchange, which was listened to & verified by The Washington Post." You can listen to it for yourself at above link.
"Some of lawmakers laughed at McCarthy’s comment. McCarthy quickly added: “Swear to God.” Ryan instructed his GOP lieutenants to keep conversation private, saying: “No leaks. . . . This is how we know we’re a real family here.”

The remarks remained secret for nearly a year."
The brilliant @TeaPainUSA tweet fits perfectly into this thread, right at this very moment. Synchronicity!

"Yet there may be another reason that top Republicans have not been more vocal in their condemnation. Perhaps it's because they have their own links to the Russian oligarchy that they would prefer go unnoticed."

dallasnews.com/opinion/commen…
"Trump & political action committees for Mitch McConnell, Marco Rubio, Scott Walker, Lindsey Graham, John Kasich & John McCain accepted $7.35 million in contributions from Ukrainian-born oligarch who is business partner of 2 of Putin's favorite oligarchs & a RU government bank."
Gee, why won't McConnell bring bill to re-open government to floor? "Ukrainian-born billionaire "Len" Blavatnik contributed $6.35 million to leading GOP candidates & incumbent senators. McConnell was the top recipient, collecting $2.5 million for his GOP Senate Leadership Fund."
Gee, why is Lindsey Graham suddenly Trump's lapdog after excoriating him during the campaign? "Other high dollar recipients of funding from Blavatnik were PACS representing South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham at $800,000."
More synchronicity - in re: China from upthread: fantastic researcher @kelly2277 reminds us of this:

Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak was a rich source for intercepted information about Trump associates & their attempts to communicate with Russia before & during the election and during the transition.

washingtonpost.com/world/national…
"Russia’s ambassador to Washington told his superiors in Moscow that he discussed campaign-related matters, including policy issues important to Moscow, with Jeff Sessions during the 2016 presidential race, contrary to public assertions by the embattled attorney general."
"Ambassador Sergey Kislyak’s accounts of two conversations with Sessions — then a top foreign policy adviser to Republican candidate Trump — were intercepted by U.S. spy agencies, which monitor the communications of senior Russian officials in the United States and in Russia."
"A former official said that the intelligence indicates that Sessions and Kislyak had “substantive” discussions on matters including Trump’s positions on Russia-related issues and prospects for U.S.-Russia relations in a Trump administration."
This, of course, led to Sessions' recusal from all matters Russian investigation, which infuriated Trump and led to Sessions' eventual firing.
"U.S. officials with regular access to Russian intelligence reports say Kislyak — whose tenure as ambassador to the United States ended recently — was known for accurately relaying details about his interactions with officials in Washington."
"Kislyak also was a key figure in departure of national security adviser Michael Flynn, who was forced to leave job after The Post revealed that he had discussed U.S. sanctions against Russia with Kislyak even while telling others in Trump administration that he had not done so."
"However, Flynn’s phone conversations with Kislyak were intercepted by U.S. intelligence, providing irrefutable evidence."
Kislyak again, with Kushner, in Trump Tower. #TreasonClue

washingtonpost.com/world/national…
"Kushner & Russia’s ambassador to Washington discussed possibility of setting up a secret & secure communications channel between Trump’s transition team & Kremlin, using Russian diplomatic facilities in an apparent move to shield pre-inauguration discussions from monitoring."
"Ambassador Sergey Kislyak reported to his superiors in Moscow that Kushner, son-in-law & confidant to then-President-elect Trump, made proposal during meeting on Dec. 1 or 2 at Trump Tower, according to intercepts of Russian communications that were reviewed by U.S. officials."
From February 2017: More Russian intercepts, including Manafort.

nytimes.com/2017/02/14/us/…
"Phone records and intercepted calls show that members of Donald J. Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and other Trump associates had repeated contacts with senior Russian intelligence officials in the year before the election."
"The officials said the intercepted communications were not limited to Trump campaign officials, and included other associates of Mr. Trump. On the Russian side, the contacts also included members of the government outside of the intelligence services."
"Officials said that one of the advisers picked up on the calls was Paul Manafort, who was Mr. Trump’s campaign chairman for several months last year & had worked as political consultant in Ukraine. The officials declined to identify the other Trump associates on the calls."🤔
Oh, Don Jr. Where does one even start? Here's a terrific breakdown of the infamous Trump Tower meeting:

washingtonpost.com/news/politics/…
Lots of comment with valid questions about why Obama didn't act. Here's an excellent and fair breakdown by NPR:

npr.org/2018/02/21/587…
"Obama administration officials have said they worried about appearing to put their thumb on the scales for Clinton. Combined with Obama's belief that Clinton would win, their political calculus appears to have boiled down to: Let's ride this out."
"Top U.S. intelligence officials — including then-CIA Director John Brennan — privately warned their Russian counterparts not to persist with their active measures. Obama himself told Russian President Vladimir Putin not to interfere in the election. These warnings did not work."
"Obama admin officials also told reporters on background that Russian intel ops were behind cyberattacks that led to release of emails stolen from political figures & institutions. DNI Clapper & Homeland Security Secretary Johnson formally blamed RU gov in official statement."
After Election Day, Obama ordered U.S. intel community to issue public report re: Russian scheme. Once it had — & concluded Russia's attack aimed at helping Trump & hurting Clinton — U.S. imposed slate of punitive measures against Moscow."
"Washington also expelled numerous Russian diplomats and closed two Russian diplomatic compounds in Maryland and New York. Then-Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., alluded publicly to Russian campaign in a letter to then-FBI Director James Comey which was leaked to press."
It was published by The Washington Post October 16, 2016 (!)

washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/w…
"In my comms w/ you & other top officials in nat sec community, it has become clear that you possess explosive information re: close ties & coordination between Trump, his top advisors, & RU gov — a foreign interest openly hostile to U.S, which Trump praises at every opportunity.
"The public has a right to know this information. I wrote to you months ago calling for this information to be released to public. There is no danger to American interests from releasing it. And yet, you continue to resist calls to inform the public of this critical information."
Biden has said that McConnell refused to sign a bipartisan statement about the numerous ties, despite the overwhelming evidence:

businessinsider.com/biden-mitch-mc…
"Biden/Obama believed that w/out bipartisan support, putting out statement questioning integrity of election would be perceived badly by public. Had he known of Jan 2017 intel report concluding RU carried out cyber campaign to sabotage election, he "may have done something more."
McConnell allegedly downgraded language warning states about Russian election interference.

washingtonpost.com/news/powerpost…
"Denis McDonough, Obama’s last chief of staff, said McConnell was "single-handedly responsible" for downgrading language in letter “asking the states to work with us” to better secure election systems in light of intel indicating Russia was attempting to interfere in election."
With all this intel being gathered, imagine how it would feel to be FBI and witness so many Russian "coincidences" in re: Trump & associates. Terrific timely thread from @selectedwisdom

So, did the NRA launder Russian money to help Trump? Excellent article by @screaminggina at @whowhatwhy

whowhatwhy.org/2018/06/19/did…
"Why would RU $ intended to influence a US election be “laundered” thru NRA? Foreign contributions to US elections — forbidden by federal law — could be hidden from oversight under provision of tax code that exempts “social welfare” organizations, like NRA, from revealing donors.
"During testimony before the House Intelligence Committee, Glenn Simpson, co-founder of the investigative firm Fusion GPS, named Torshin in describing what he said were efforts by Russians to “infiltrate” the NRA. "
"The Justice Department’s probe into the NRA’s ties to Russia intensified after reports revealed a May 2016 email to Rick Dearborn, Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign adviser, bearing the subject line “Kremlin Connection.”
"In it, Paul Erickson, an NRA member and conservative activist, said he wanted the advice of Dearborn and then-Alabama Senator and Trump campaign official Jeff Sessions, about how to proceed in connecting Trump and Putin."
"Erickson wrote, “Putin is deadly serious about building a good relationship with Mr. Trump. He wants to extend an invitation to Mr. Trump to visit him in the Kremlin before the election. Let’s talk through what has transpired and Senator Sessions’s advice on how to proceed.”
Here is more info pertaining to the China information upthread from @911CORLEBRA777 Steele Dossier correct again.
Breaking: New intel report says "Alexander Torshin, Russian central bank official who spent years aggressively courting NRA leaders, briefed Kremlin on his efforts & recommended they participate, according to report. Its existence and contents have not previously been reported."
"This reporting indicates that Torshin was working w/ blessing of Kremlin, at minimum,” per European intelligence official. The report, published last year, is based on conversations that happened in 2015, before NRA leaders visited Moscow on trip arranged by Torshin and Butina."
Speaking of classified intel and traitors:

The Direction générale de la sécurité extérieure (DGSE), France's external intelligence agency, warned its government to consider the consequences of a Trump presidency in December of 2015.

lemonde.fr/ameriques/arti…
"Bajolet revealed memo classified secret-defense to high level diplomats. 'Our services made note Dec 15, 2015 "Trump's Victory in US Election, What Consequences?' Admin in Paris refuses to imagine such a character reaching highest responsibilities of world's leading power."
Israel: Mossad warned by a senior US intelligence official he believed Moscow had leverage over Trump.

independent.co.uk/news/world/ame…
"Members of Mossad, Israel's foreign espionage agency, & other Israeli intel officials, attended meeting at CIA headquarters shortly before Trump’s inauguration on January 20, 2017. There, they were told by senior US intel official he believed Moscow had leverage over Trump."
