This is a great book, it’s the story of how double agent spies working for Britain in WW2 helped convince Hitler + Germany that the D-Day attacks wouldn’t be in Normandy
Germany thought they were spying on Britain for them but actually it was a massive disinformation campaign lasting 4 years, culminating in the D-Day attacks. One of the double agents even got the Iron Cross military medal for his services to Germany (he was British all along!)
The team was: a polish patriot, a Peruvian gambling girl, a French dog lover, a Serbian playboy and a Spanish chicken farmer. Hardly the team you’d expect to be able to trick the entire Nazi army!
Just shows you that some people perhaps don’t seem impressive at first, but given circumstance step up and are more impressive than everyone else
