There are three progressive women running for president and it is thrilling.

.@KirstenGillibrand is the most progressive voter in the Senate, lauded by The Nation, and has written some of our most critical legislation of the past two years.

.@KamalaHarris is our most electric Democrat and had both Sessions and Kavanaugh shaking as she questioned them, refusing to back down as they equivocated.

.@ewarren has been a strong voice in the Senate for consumers and consistently ranks in the top five most progressive voters. She created the CPFB under Obama.

Each of these women has an extraordinary resume of accomplishments as well as unique personal histories. They are feminists, they are staunch supporters of women's rights on every level and they have consistently spoken up and out when others were too fearful to do so.
I made my prediction in January 2017, before Trump's Inauguration, that Harris and Gillibrand would be the front runners for 2020, that their hard work, ambition (only ever considered a negative for women) and passion for change would propel them to the front of any pack.
Having these three women in the race--and the possible later entrance of @amyklobuchar--is an exciting and awe-inspiring event that feels tremendously hopeful, particularly as Trump continues to degrade our nation and our national discourse. These women raise us up.
There are those who will insist that some elderly white man is the REAL person to save us, but the #midterrms were declarative: America's left wants change in the form of women and POC and progressivism.

These candidates offer us what we need and want.
Every Democrat & true progressive knows that 2020 should've been the re-election run for @HillaryClinton. It's painful that after all the work she did over decades to make it possible for a woman to run & become the nominee, she cannot take that seat. But we WILL get that seat.
In 2016 Hillary won all women and POC by a significant margin.
She won those voters by courting them directly with her outreach, her policy and her attention. No one will win 2020 without recognizing that women and POC are the Democratic base & black women are its foundation.
It is a year till the first 2020 primary.
Much will happen in that time.
But 2020 is the anniversary of the 19th Amendment and it WILL be the year of the woman.
Trump is already anxious at the thought of standing against a strong woman--he lost every debate to Hillary.
In 2020, there will be no theft of the moment we have waited for over 242yrs: a woman president.
We will not vote for Biden or Bernie or Beto.
We will vote for the women.

And for the 1st time in this nation's history, we will be represented.
If you feel the urge to claim gender is insignificant, ask yourself why women make less than men if gender is insignificant or why there is no law legislating men's bodies or any of the long lists of reasons why women need a woman president--why the nation needs her.
Thus far the game is 45-0.

It is time.

Our future is indeed female.
And we WILL rise.
For those wondering why I've not included #TulsiGabbard in this thread, here is one of my threads on her. As a politics reporter who has covered her extensively, her extremist views are more in line with the #GOP than Democrats or progressives.

And this is another thread on #TulsiGabbard with more specifics of things she has said and done. So while it is painful to campaign against a woman candidate, particularly a WOC, Gabbard shouldn't even be in this race. She is the Martha McSally of HI.
