Ok, as it's noon. Whitaker will *absolutely* dominate headlines today.

But please make sure this story gets attention. Senate Judiciary advanced *44* judicial nominees yesterday. Yes, you read that right. 44.

Two of the three 9th Circuit nominees were included in that batch. Thread here.
I normally hate saying, "we're not paying enough attention to xyz!" but we really aren't paying enough attention to this. If you need a reminder on how Trump is reshaping the judiciary, start with this November 2018 article from NPR:

Or this August 2018 piece from Rolling Stone.

OR this August 2018 piece from WaPo. Including this section.

Remember, now that these names have advanced out of committee, the key way to stop them is to tell your Senators to vote NO on the floor.

And remember, this is what public pressure/attention can do, even in a GOP-controlled Senate:
So our job?

1. Call about AG nominee William Barr, his vote is next week. washingtonpost.com/world/national…
Script for Barr. (It's simple, because we have to deal with so many judges)
2. If you have members on Senate Judiciary (judiciary.senate.gov/about/members), also take the time to call them about Neomi Rao, who had her hearing this week.

List of members here (graphic from Wiki):
And thread about Rao here.

With a script here:
3. And for the 44 nominees? We can:
- Tell our Senators we oppose them all, or
- Cite individuals as they come up, e.g. the 9th Circuit nominees deserve special attention.

My personal choice is the latter option, starting w/ the 9th Circuit nominees.
Also. There's really no impetus for Schumer to do this at the moment - e.g. endangered Senators don't need to go home to campaign - but for good measure, remind *all* Dem. Senators, Schumer cannot even consider cutting deals on these 44 judicial nominees.
It should not be on the table for any reason.

A refresher on the last time there was pushback against a rumored deal: thehill.com/homenews/senat…
4. We're also one week out from the deadline to get a border security deal, so when we're on the phone w/ our Senators, remind them the government can NOT shutdown again.

Then let's call our House members too. Adapt this script as needed.
