Just saw the new footage of the Roger Stone arrest by fully armed FBI agents in tactical gear armed with automatic rifles.

Anybody who tells you 'this is how it's normally done' is lying to you.

This is what they do when they want to INTIMIDATE THE PERSON into cooperating.
In CIVIL CRIMINAL CASES like this process perjury case, the lawyer arranges the surrender of his client at a designated place, the person turns themselves in.

A full scale SWAT raid is what you do when it's a civil case and you want to put the fear of GOD into the person.
This is exactly what Preet Bharara and his incompetent prosecutors did to Molly Bloom after they stupidly decided she must be a key player inside the Russian mob & included her in a RICO indictment.
Here's what happened: Molly Bloom was running an underground high-stakes poker game in NYC & some of the regulars were Russian mob running insurance scams that cost insurers over $600 million, as well as illegal sports books.
Molly Bloom committed only ONE crime: she 'raked' or took a profit from the pot of the games for 6 months in the 2 years she was running that game. She 'illegally' did what every casino in this country does.

She did that to cover the very high bets made in the game.
Despite the fact all the evidence they had pointed to Bloom committing a civil crime, not violent, a gambling offense, about 12 FBI agents in full SWAT gear arrested her in LA & served her with a warrant for her arrest in the middle of the night.
She was then required to be on the other side of the country in 48 hours in NYC to be arraigned on RICO charges. She had to stand right alongside Russian mobsters who stole $600 million among other things & enter a plea for essentially raking a poker game for 6 months.
It turns out the FBI INFORMANT who was part of her game was the guy who BROUGHT the Russian mob to her when she was looking for new players.

And then it turned out the prosecutors didn't know what "Molly" was. They misread text messages/phone calls
She ended up in the middle of a RICO indictment because incompetent SDNY prosecutors thought the constant text messages these players were sending to each other "Don't forget Molly" "Bring Molly" "Make sure you get Molly!" were about HER.
In case you don't know [the SDNY prosecutors certainly never made the connection!] "Molly" is the slang term for the drug Ecstasy.

So gee, how'd the SDNY boys react once they figured out they'd goofed? Did they let Bloom go?

Hell no!

They demanded she cooperate by turning over highly damaging 'insider info' about the private lives of all the players in her poker games in both NYC and LA.
Those private text messages would have destroyed lives and careers on both coasts. So Bloom refused to turn them over. She insisted on pleading guilty instead.

So the SDNY prosecutors recommended to the judge that she be sent to prison for FOUR YEARS.
And in the end the judge said to the prosecutors "People a few blocks from here on Wall Street are committing real felonies and you want me to put this lady in prison for raking a poker game?"

He refused, giving her 2 yrs probation, 1 yr drug testing & a $200,000 fine.
Prosecutors only do this SWAT raid thing when they know they have a weak case and they want to intimidate the person into caving and giving them what they want.
@LindseyGrahamSC is absolutely correct to be demanding answers from the FBI about why they went along with the request for a fully armed SWAT raid on a 66 year old man accused only of lying about having emails in his possession he claimed to investigators he didnt' have.
