Already told y’all about the cold shoulder thing. The other really bad thing is grudges. I feel like I was the best grudge-holder in the tri-state area (of Nashville) & GWORL when I tell you it’s probably the reason I can memorize whole ass dates & battles in history like...😬
I recognized this PRETTY earlier because I noticed my mom did this (guess BOTH of our signs lololol) and I also tried to reign it in earlier. I did okay because I managed to not bring it up during arguments but the way my brain works, I could be having a bomb ass day...
...sipping a mimosa somewhere or some shit and my brain will suddenly remember that one time Sandy kicked dirt in my eye 8 years ago and now I’m mad at Sandy outta nowhere. And is she ask, I’m like, “Well, you remember...”
I noticed it’s one of the reasons I can’t get that close to my sister because she said some foul shit about my weight and my body growing up and every time she tries to compliment me now—in the present—on something related, I just say I’m good because that’s all I can remember 😩
To be clear, I don’t think they’re 100% bad because they’re a good way to prevent yourself from getting steamrolled like that again and a good way to remind folx that “yes, I WAS paying attention to that foul shit you did”.
But when they’re genuinely interrupting times of peace and happiness between you & a person you genuinely already buried the hatchet with, it’s time to figure out why you’re still holding on to it. Or rather, why you still WANT to hold on to it.

😬
