I have loved and respected Rev. Sam Adeyemi since the days of Success Power on radio.

He is on point as usual.

Nigerians are mostly bad people just waiting for their chance to take advantage of the system and others.

Just watch them on a bus queue during rush hour
#Thread
The bus conductor sees a crowd at the bus stop and automatically sees an opportunity to make more money without additional value.

He inflates the price and carries more than the standard load capacity of the vehicle.
The "Agbero" hears how much the conductor is charging and encourages him to charge more.

"The last bus carried people for #300" he says

A #100 trip grows till it becomes #500.

The "Agbero" takes more money than usual from the conductor. He is happy.
One of the passengers allows his colleague who is just coming from the office to cut in his front.

Someone down the queue who had been standing for 30min misses the last bus because someone up front allowed a new comer to take his place.
The conductor sees his neighbours and beckons to them.

He lets them board the bus ahead of people who have been patiently waiting in line for a long time.
The buses come late and far in between because some inconsiderate drivers are stopping to pick passengers right in the middle of the road thereby causing obstruction.

And some educated illiterates in suit and tie are crossing the major road right under a pedestrian bridge.
Oh, vehicles can't move as fast as they should because some traders are displaying their wares on half of the road.

And yes, they have earned the right to be there because they paid levy to some local government empowered touts.
Farther down the road, there is stand still traffic caused by a broken down tanker.

The VIO didn't do proper road worthiness assessment. He took some money and issued certificate.

So did the Road Safety officers at the check points the truck passed earlier.

Here we are😭
The truck's tyres wouldn't have busted in motion but our brother that deals in spare parts imported expired tires and had the expiry dates changed.

He merely had to "roger" the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) inspection team.

They are being owed 3months salaries na.
The truck company ended up with expired tyres because their procurement officer issued the Purchase Order to a supplier he has connived with to inflate the price and give him kick-back.

Instead of the vendor that has good reputation and represents the tyre manufacturer directly.
And this is the reason it is not lucrative to manufacture in Nigeria.

You can't win the price war against those importing substandard products who pay Custom officers to look the other way on duties and tariffs.
Just when you thought it couldn't get worse, another truck fell on its side due to a really bad section of the road.

The road was constructed barely a year ago but the contractor did a shoddy job because he had so many stakeholders to "settle"
Contractor had to bribe the Minister, Directors and everybody whose hands the project contract files passed through.

Before he was allowed to start work on site he had to pay the community leaders and youths handsomely.
2 of his workers were kidnapped during the construction.

He had to pay the Police DPO and Commissioner to help.

He still and to pay some huge ransom when the Police failed as usual to solve the crime and get his workers back.
Now I have to stop tweeting and find somewhere to recharge my phone because we haven't had light in 2 days.

The electricity sector is a mess.

Some people did a shoddy privatisation selling to companies and friends with no funds or technical capability.
DISCOs are not buying electricity generated by GENCOs from TCN because they can make money from selling darkness through estimated billing.

The regulatory body and legislature are too busy/useless to make policies and enforce such to stop this sharp practice.
That is how we all contribute to the mess Nigeria is in our own small ways.

Change begins with you and I.

God bless Nigeria and thank you for coming to my TED Talk🙏
