1) Joshua Geltzer is an Obama-era “counterterrorism” official.

2) Today CNN published a piece by Geltzer in which he envisions the military prepping itself to remove him from power by force if need be—if he “refuses to accept defeat in 2020.”

3) Kristinn Taylor @gatewaypundit wrote an article about his article. Otherwise I wouldn’t have seen it.

4) Who is this person and what is the real agenda behind his article? Why did CNN post it?
5) Let’s take a look.
6) One noteworthy fact: His wife’s mother (as of 2011) “is the chairwoman of the national board of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, which is in New York.”

7) Interestingly enough, that same year (that this guy married the daughter of a top honcho at Planned Parenthood) it came to light that they were schooling pimps on how to get abortions for preteen human trafficking victims.

8) This of course was during Obama administration, when the DOJ/FBI stuck its fingers in its ears upon hearing that Planned Parenthood was helping pimps pimp out fresh meat.
9) This of course was during the Obama administration, when Democrats funneled $ to Planned Parenthood through the Dept. of Health & Human Services.

In return, Planned Parenthood shilled for Democrats.

See how that works?

10) As it happens, Geltzer married well. His wife’s father, Garrett Boone, cofounded the Container Store.
11) He has lived a somewhat insulated life from the working class man.

Both of his parents are New York lawyers.

He went to Ivy League schools: Princeton, and then Yale Law.

12) Remember the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals? (Notorious leftists)

13) Remember 9th Circuit Chief Judge Alex Kozinski, the notorious sexual harasser they tried to associate Justice Kavanaugh with?

Geltzer clerked for Kozinski.

Did he notice anything?

14) Yale students are all into protecting illegal immigrants.

It’s a pattern with these kids.

No brains.

15) You see, this is the class of intellectual idiots that Obama so smartly relied on.

Over-educated and under-exposed to the realities of life.
16) Oh by the way, The Container Store can’t play contract games with its loyalty program members - like changing the terms without notice.

An appeals court saw to that.
17) So how is this person qualified to serve in any position related to national security strategy?

A liberal Obama official with no military service, who clerked for a notorious sexual harassing judge and still has that on his bio.
18) Maybe, despite his questionable connections and sheltered, pampered upbringing he is somehow a majestically brilliant, objective legal mind.

Let’s check.
19) Here he is talking about the FISA.

Let’s listen in.

20) “Title 1 requires that you have probable cause to believe a citizen is an agent of a foreign power.”
21) “It’s not infrequent to rely on Title 1 of FISA especially given the range of threats we face these days.”
22) The FISA process starts when an agent has “concerns” that somebody may be “essentially spying here in the United States.”
23) note: #20 is a paraphrase
24) On the law, Geltzer is actually extremely informative.

He explains that the FISA is about foreign intelligence collection where an American is suspected of spying.

That the law was a reaction to abuse - spying for political reasons.
25) FISA addresses the gap between the 4th Amendment (domestic surveillance vs. unreasonable search and seizure) & foreign intelligence collection (authorized by executive order)
26) By the way this segment aired February 2, 2018
27) He emphasizes that the FISA warrant involves the executive branch signoff “at a high level,” judge “reviewing,” and “Congressional oversight from the intel committees.”

How high up does Executive Branch “signoff” go?
28) The President of the United States is the head of the Executive Branch.
29) Barack Obama was President when Donald Trump was running for President in 2015-2016.
30) Carter Page FISA October 2016

31) But MORE THAN 260 Americans were spied on (“unmasking”) by Samantha Power. Not just Carter Page.

32) “Unmasking refers generally to the practice of political appointees obtaining the identities of American citizens referenced in intelligence surveillance of foreign nationals.”
33) If multiple agencies in the Executive Branch were worried about Russian collusion with Trump associates in the election, who would be the natural target of 1 of these spying requests?
34) If you were a career civil servant (Loretta Lynch, AG) and had to approve a FISA against a candidate for President — would you (could you) possibly make that decision on your own?
35) Clearly Geltzer should be aware of all the potential conflict inherent in having a Presidential candidate targeted for spying...by a partisan President.

But since he doesn’t like to get his hands dirty with the real world...he missed it.
36) Geltzer wrote a book on fighting al-Qaeda.

But he is not a soldier.

So he focused mostly on...yes, you guessed it: understanding their perspective on the world.
37) Read his columns at justsecurity.org.

Perhaps well intentioned.

But wrong on just about everything...and in a way that can be easily exploited by Communists.
