Steele is the guy at the center of the beating heart of the formation of the Steele Dossier, then it's being shopped to both the DOJ/FBI and the DNC News Media Complex as 'evidence' of Trump/Russia collusion and crimes.

If the lawyers deposing him were any good....
This is the BUZZFEED case.

This is NOT the case in the UK court involving Steele being sued for libel by someone named in the dossier.

I already see people in the comments confusing the two.
In the UK case, Steele was being PERSONALLY sued for naming someone in the Dossier.

In this case in US court, BUZZFEED was being sued for publishing the dossier. That case was dismissed, but both Steele and Kramer were deposed by the plaintiff's lawyers.
Steele & Kramer's depositions were under seal, and boy have Steele & Kramer & their lawyers been desperate to KEEP those depositions under seal. But the judge in the case just ordered their unsealing, and set the date of March 14th for them to be made public.
Up until this point, Steele has NEVER been seen discussing how he formed the dossier, who his sources were, where/how he met with them, he's been able to avoid saying literally ANYTHING in the public domain.
But in a court setting under oath, he'd have to have some pretty compelling reasons to give a judge in order to not answer questions being asked.
"Well, ya see judge, I can't answer that question about how my dossier got into Senator McCain's hands because....uh...national security!"

"Great! Get me a signed statement from the head of the required agency by Monday proving that."

[under his breath] "Shit!"
See, Steele and Kramer both *already* know what they were asked and how they answered the questions in these depositions.

That's *WHY* they were desperate to keep them sealed.

These are sealed while the case is heard, once it's over, no compelling reason not to unseal.
And if they are suddenly going to claim to the judge there IS a compelling reason to keep the depositions sealed, they have to DEMONSTRATE why that is to the judge.

Steele & Kramer attempted to do that, and the judge wasn't convinced & ordered the unsealing anyway.
