Dear @jkenney & @AndrewScheer & #America .. Today was the one of the worst days of my life. I want you to keep an open mind with what I have to say; cause today I am angry. You see that man 👎 .. that man is my dearest person in my life.
You see; at 4 am this morning this man collapsed. He had a heart attack. If it wasn't for my night classes at night taking an EMR course at Nait; I wouldn't have been able to perform CPR on him.
If it wasn't for the 911 operator, who not only supported me by counting ... 1 2 3 4 ... 1 2 3 4 .... I'm not sure he'd be here. She went to school to train for this job.
If it wasn't for the EMS and Fireman - who also went to school - performed CPR on this man for 25 minutes because his heart stopped - he wouldn't be here. If that ambulance drive to a local hospital and then to the city, he wouldn't be here.
If it wasn't for the RN; who also went to school; showed me compassion when I barged into the ICU; distraught, I'm not sure where I would be.
If it wasn't for many RN's who ALL went to school, put their feet up on their desk and did nothing; this man would be dead. You see all those IV's, that's what's keeping him alive today.
If it wasn't for these monitors, he'd be dead. If it wasn't for the healthcare we receive in Alberta not be free; even though I pay higher taxes; this man would have died on my kitchen floor.
What if this was your spouse, your brother, your son - would you feel the same way about the cutbanks that you want to set in this province. You see my #American friends, this is what YOU could have. If I didn't have this this man would have died on my kitchen floor.
Those EMS, firefighters, RN's, doctors, 911 operator and myself included - without the schooling I would be making funeral arrangements, instead I am hoping that he lives another day and another and another. #IStandwithRachel @RachelNotley and MINE is NOT the only story.
NOW this story is all mine. I lost my dear friend, my partner in crime on March 7th. The unbelievable care he rec'd at the U of A was second to none. To all those that reached out to me, that helped him out and will continue to support me; THANK YOU !
I brought David home last night. But first I had errands to do that he was supposed to do 3 weeks ago. It was off to the Dollar Store, Rona and a stop at Tim Hortons. AND of course he was buckled up. The funeral director placed him in my oversize purse, seat belted him in.
There was no one behind me at Tim Hortons so I just waited. Had a nice chat with the young lady and then there it was. A white truck. One guy. To him, THANKS ! You made my day :-) Happy First Day of Spring ! 🌷I hope you enjoyed your meal 💞 Then home 💔
Quiet - and another day of remembering. He's surrounded by lit candles and friends are popping in. Memories that we all have. The laughter he brought us all and his kindness in helping anyone that needed it. I will miss that but so will his friends. ❤️ AND pictures. YES I did 💔
it's 4 am, Mar 29 ...the longest 3 weeks of my life. Should have been sleeping hours ago but my mind is just wandering all over the place. The sounds of silence is what gets to me. Cleo was more vocal today. Sister is coming out on Sunday for a week. Tomorrow I need to get out ❤️
today is his birthday ....We still celebrated our birthdays like we were teenagers. 2 weeks from today is mine. He'd go all out with flowers, we'd go for dinner, have a drink and eat our favorite meal. Today I cry. Today I really miss him. Happy Birthday !! 🌹🌹🌹🍷🍷🍷🎂🎂🎂🎈🎈
