Just saw this tweet from CNN and I’m seeing red. Look at who gets first billing.
Bernie. Sanders. Was. Not. There.
At the time of the commemorative march, he wasn’t even in Selma. 🤬
Recap: The day started off with a breakfast where Hillary was presented with the International Unity Award. Cory Booker, Sanders, and Sherrod Brown all spoke before the honoree, Hillary Clinton, got a standing ovation and delivered her own speech.
Then Hillary, Cory, and Sherrod joined others for a service at Brown Chapel AME where Hillary spoke again. Sanders didn’t join them. He was already on his way out of town.
Hillary, Cory, and Sherrod went on to the Edmund Pettus Bridge to join one of the heroes of the original march, John Lewis, other civil rights activists, and dozens of members of Congress. Sanders was not among them.
CNN’s tweet is still up. They haven’t corrected it despite being repeatedly told it was wrong. But hey, what the hell, right? It isn’t the first time, and likely won’t be the last, media has given Sanders credit for something He. Did. Not. Do. 🤬
