THREAD: Let's address the important issue of racism in trans advocacy.

The argument routinely advanced by genderists that trans identified males (TIMs) are women in the same way that Black women are women is racist. There is a long, painful history of calling 1/11
Black women "manly"/"masculine," & comparing us to males. The contention that we are not really women was used to justify enslaving/raping/brutalizing/killing us. It is *still* used to dehumanize and harm us. A few years ago on the respected publication Psychology Today, 2/11
Satoshi Kanazawa said “The race difference in the level of testosterone can therefore potentially explain why black women are less physically attractive than women of other races….” See attchd for whole quote. Putting aside the obvs fact that being "masculine” or “feminine" 3/11
has zero to do w/ whether one is a man or woman, it is wholly inappropriate for any male, espc white males, to make this absurd & racist comparison.

Ask yourself why genderists repeatedly invoke the pain/suffering of Black women to advance their argument.  If the point was 4/11
truly simply to note that there are different types of women, they could just as easily list white women. As nearly all those making this argument are white males, why aren’t white women the first that come to mind? A white woman is their mother. A white woman gave 5/11
birth to them. In fact, is it not their claim that *they themselves* are white women? And if they don’t want to list white women, then why not list one of the 1000s of other kinds of women like tall/short/smart/funny, etc to make the point?

Instead, their racism 6/11
compels them towards the incessant practice of bringing *Black women*--of the 1000s of women they could name--into the conversation. Similar to how whites who falsely accuse Black men of crimes could have chosen 100s of other groups of men, yet their racism compelled 7/11
Them to choose Black men.

Two things are afoot here. 1st, they invoke Black women’s suffering to leverage/exploit the shame and guilt associated with this country's legacy of racism, slavery, and depraved treatment of Black women, & thus silence other whites who challenge 8/11
their claims. 2nd, the constant use of this offensive, racist comparison also reveals that on some level, they apparently believe Black women are indeed some kind of asterisked, non-woman women. See e.g. attchd.

TIMs are male. Fact. Otherwise the wouldn't be trans. Thus 9/11
there is zero comparison b/w them and Black women i.e. adult human females. None.

If TIMs want to make the biologically inaccurate argument that they are adult human females, or that an infinitesimal % of males have the right to redefine the word woman for half of the 10/11
the entire human populace so as to include themselves, then let them make that argument on its own merit. Not by trying to ride the backs of Black women.

White people have taken enough from us. They cannot have this. The use of offensive, racist comparison must cease. 11/11
BTW, this is a re-publication of this thread b/c a key tweet, 3/11, was not showing up in the original.
