Dear @Jack — I’m someone who uses Twitter like they use breathing. I’m writing to give you my two cents on the overhaul planned for the site in the foreseeable future.

I hope you consider it. At the very least I’m using twitter as intended by shoving my opinion at you.
The intent of this is to “bring things back to the good ol days” of 2006. Or something like that, right?

That’s great.
You CAN do that to this website.
But you CAN’T do that to the users of it.

We all can’t magically go with you, here.
We are where we are as a society.
Feel free to disregard this thread,@jack , if these overhaul changes are part of a separate version option of the twitter platform.

I’m working under the impression that’s not the case, although many speculate.
Think of Twitter like the ocean, @jack

It’s big, vast, and beautiful. But there’s pollution in it. Trash.

We can curb throwing trash into the ocean.
We can take trash out of the ocean.

But we can’t time travel to an earlier point in history where it was cleaner.
The way I see it @Jack:
You see Twitter in a state of “BAD” that you want to make “GOOD.”

But Twitter’s success lies within that struggle. THAT’s the product.

The friction of “BAD” and “GOOD” coming to terms with itself.
I'll say it to you straight, @jack

Twitter can be a disgusting and awful place. I have seen tweets you wouldn't believe could be possible. DISGUSTING and DEGENERATE threads that are absolute cesspools.

But it's the existence of that BAD that allows people to understand GOOD.
Oh thank fuck
