#Bitcoin cannot succeed nor exist with either.

Can we please put the nodes vs miners narrative to rest please, it is moot. Bitcoin requires both.
Nodes want blocks from lots of distributed miners to avoid censorship of their transactions.

Miners want to propagate blocks to lots of distributed nodes to ensure the longevity of their investment (mining equipment); again to avoid censorship (takedown of the network).
Users then seek the most distributed (secure) network to store their value, in which by they spontaneously create value.

They want distributed nodes to prevent network takedown (past).
They want distributed miners to prevent network censorship (future).
Ergh, I just realized I wrote with either instead of without either in OP. Oops. 😅
