Here is THE question that the committee MUST ask #Mueller (in front of the cameras): 1/7
You reached the conclusion in your Report that the government had insufficient evidence to bring a conspiracy case against the Trump campaign to court. (18 USC § 371). 2/7
But in the course of your investigation, Mr. Mueller, did you find evidence of any actions taken by Donald Trump or any of his campaign officials that might have been of concern for our national security, even if they didn’t rise to the level of criminality? 3/7
Our understanding from the published testimony of LIsa Page and Peter Strzok before this committee is that the FBI’s Operation Crossfire Hurricane began as a counterintelligence operation. 4/7
Did you ever regard your own investigation as being, at least in part, a counterintelligence, national security investigation? 5/7
And finally, would you recommend that Congress ask the FBI and the DOJ to submit a *counterintelligence* report on Trump-Russia, separate from your own, based on the evidentiary materials your investigation has collected? 6/7
THAT question and its answer should set triumphalist Republicans back on their heels pretty hard.

After all, the question whether Mueller found sufficient evidence to prove a violation of the conspiracy statute is important, but it isn’t THE question before the public. 7/7
