Dear Job-seeking Zimbabweans: Many a times, you fail to get the job not because you are not qualified. In this LONG THREAD I will be delving into HR technicalities that may keep you away from lending that job. Tag a friend whom you think may need this and let's roll it.
Rule No.1: Your Resume must be 3 pages or less - a 1 page CV is more attractive than a 3 page. Make an effort to get different CV templates on the internet - get it drafted by a professional if you can afford one.
Rule No.2: Your cover letter - if needed - must be well drafted & motivational. Do not fall in2the trap of old school & write a boring job application letter. The one receiving yr application must be captivated upon reading your handwriting. I have drafted a demo letter for u.👇
Rule No.3: DO NOT print a resume on different colour paper. White is the standard intl colour for official communication. The HR people have their colour preferences too so if your resume in in blue and I don't like that colour, I will bypass. HR won't fall for your tricks.
Rule No.4: Before any interview, do your homework. Find out everything you can about the company or organization. If possible, get to know a bit about the person or people you will be meeting during interview. This knowledge is necessary to help you gain the needed confidence.
Rule No.5: If called for the interview, dress appropriately - nomatter the profession, formal wear is most preferrable. To kill body odour (if any), buy soda/apple cider vinegar/ginger powder/aloe and add to your bathing water. Bad breath rinse mouth with mouthwash/soda water.
Rule No.6: Think about the questions you will most likely be asked. Practice words & sentences that you will likely use to answer those questions. Practice how you will discuss your experience or your career. Practice how you will discuss the value you can bring in.
Rule No.7: Arrive 10 to 15 minutes early for the interview - mind your own business and DO NOT turn the interview venue into a chatroom. HR people sometimes plant one of their own to study behaviour and mannerism outside the interview room. You never know who you are talking to.
Rule No.8: Be able to talk about how you can contribute to the organization. Show that you believe you can do the job by referring to your skills, abilities and experience. Be prepared to discuss your stuttering. Be open, honest and transparent.
Rule No.9: Tell the employer how it will not impact your ability to get the job done. If you feel comfortable with doing so, tell the employer at the very beginning of the interview about your stuttering (if any) - this way you can better control the discussion about it.
Rule No.10: Be ready to ask relevant questions. The interview is not only for the employer. The interview is also for you to learn about the position and to see if it really is for you. If you are properly prepared, you should know about the position and be able to ask questions.
Rule No.11: Be confindent - the employer will not be trying to trip you up during the interview. If you don’t believe you are the best person for the job, why should the employer? Believe in yourself. Keep good eye contact during the interview. Sit still & smile often.
Rule No.12: Positivity goes a long way. A genuine smile can put everyone at ease and show your interviewer that you’re truly enthusiastic about the job. Be sure to make eye contact and be aware of your body language. Avoid making negative comments about former employers.
REMEMBER. It's just as important for the interviewer to sell benefits of working at their business, as it is for you to impress your next potential employer.
PS: I hope this was useful. Will be doing more of these from time to time. Stick to comrade's timeline.

Dear Zimbabwe: I'm made to understand there is a prgrm on Covid-19 survivors narrating their ordeal with the virus on @classic263 every Wednesday which I think is a great programme. I listened to 1 survivor whose narration is something else. Well done to @OlindahMk - good content
Dear Zimbabwe: IMPORTANT: Regarding our crisis, many were asking way forward. Should Pres @edmnangagwa fail to switch off the plug on corruption & fix economy over the next 3 months, it will be prudent for all stakeholders to bring him to the table for EXIT PACKAGE NEGOTIATIONS.
This exit package ought to be extended to the entire Presidium so that the nation can reboot & start afresh. Zimbabwe has a natural God given right to take care of its citizens. The onus will be upon all stakeholders to tactically approach this in a NON-CONFRONTATIONAL MANNER.
Highly respected & experienced clergymen will need to be given the task of introducing the subject to the President & lead the negotiations. If it means drafting in regional leaders into it, so be it because the state of the Zimbabwean economy is now a pain on their side too.
Dear Zimbabwe: Today your Cde is doing an IMPORTANT thread on BUSINESS PLAN writing. If you are a young/middle-aged person who needs to acquire start-up capital, this is definely for you. Tag somebody who u think may need this & let's roll. VERY LONG thread with ORIGINAL CONTENT
The front page of your business plan must be either plain simple or totally well graphically designed with the words Business Plan for XYZ Company in the middle & the total amount of capital sought a little bit at the bottom. You may/may not include contact detaile here too.
The next page must carry the Executive Summary of your Business Plan. In here you slot in the main objective of the project followed by preparations to date. If it is a going concern, clearly indicate that it is a going concern (in bold). Follow that with projected sales figures.
Dear Zimbabwe: I will BOLDLY say it openly that the manner in which my party - @ZANUPF_Official - is managing the economy is HIGHLY DISMAL. I am COMPLETELY DISTRAUGHT with the govt's failure to effectively deal with corruption. I say this because I GENUINELY love the party.
If you are a party member & you are going to call me "sell-out" then you are the one who needs to be ejected from the party for refusing to face the truth in the best interest of taking remedial action. The way the economy is being managed is not what I and anyone was expecting.
We cannot afford to continue as usual when everything is collapsing right in our faces like this. It takes men & women of integrity to admit openly that things have gone south. Many of you won't be comfortable with this razor-sharp truth because you are extremely corrupt.
Dear Zimbabwe: Here is my first business tweet of 2020 in line with this timeline's new thrust of 80% business content: There appears to be a divine farming revolution involving young people currently going on within our borders. Be a fast follower & get involved in 1 way/another
Even thought industry is required, Zimbabwe has always been more of an agro-based economy. Make an effort to follow handles that are into the agro industry & start learning and get inspired. You will awaken the hidden farming passion in you. The cleanest money is in the soil.
As you learn the ropes, identify potential markets and all the challenges that you will face once you have started. Look for A1 and A2 farming partners that have some pieces of idle land they would want to lease & start small. Connect with @corporatefarmg1 and she will refer you.
