Football is a really poor business because ALL income and expenditure is infinitely variable.

It’s poor by design. Those running the game believe that the bigger the financial prize, the better the excitement and greater the competitiveness in the game.

And up to a point..
..they’re right. Big bonuses are paid to players, managers and back room staff for success.

You often see clubs doing well in cup competitions but awful in the league for this very reason.

The prize money and financial model is hopeless for the stability of clubs.
When we played @dcfcofficial in the @EmiratesFACup earlier this year, a win would have been worth over £400,000 to our club.

Beating @IpswichTown was worth £150,000 with the £400,000 tie against Derby as the bonus.

To put this in perspective our annual match day..
...takings have never so far been higher than the prize would have been for winning those two matches.

This mechanism reinforces the gambling nature in football from top to bottom of the football pyramid.

You’ve heard it said that those in the top 6 must get regular entry..
...into @ChampionsLeague and this drives them to try to secure all the cash to make their chances higher. The £100’s million prize.

The same is true in the @SkyBetChamp with clubs chasing the £200m prize, gambling with private funds and being caught out with FFP.

We can..
..test this all the way down the pyramid to @TheNationalLge where clubs are going for gold, gambling on @EFL riches. Many saw my comments with @GNev2 earlier this season on this subject.

But,

And this is a really big but..

Not all gamblers win.

Football is littered..
..with clubs who gambled and failed, trooping up and down the court steps, facing winding up orders and failing to pay their players and staff.

These clubs are victims of a brainless financial set up, resided over by @FA @premierleague @EFL and @TheNationalLge

They..
..oversee this moronic financial structure and make it worse year on year. They’ve been doing this for 25 years...

When financial planning was first done, there was little money in the game so they really could not get it wrong.

Their mistake was, and is, to fail..
..to properly modify the framework over time. As more money came into the game they had to review its impact and the suitability of existing financial rules.

They got it wrong.

They are still getting it wrong.

So now clubs NOT gambling and..
..trying to run a stable ship are penalised and disadvantaged. Those being reckless are potentially rewarded with untold riches. We only need to look at @afcbournemouth and @LCFC to see this.

So it’s clear that those allegedly in control of the game have ‘designed in’ ...
...gambling.

Then in an attempt to recover a bad situation of their own making, they come up with parachutes, ffp, SCMP:

@PFA and @EFL are lending money to an insolvent club to try to recover a bad situation of their own making!

@ASFCofficial is in @SkyBetLeagueOne now,
..if we stay in @SkyBetLeagueOne we need a £300,000 new pitch.

If we were to be relegated to @SkyBetLeagueTwo we need only a box of grass seed. Anything else would be reckless, but I’ve had to place the order or a new pitch cannot be installed.

I’m gambling, the authorities..
..have trapped me in their Shite system.

Thankfully we got a win on saturday🤷‍♂️

And it gets worse....

Any club in @SkyBetLeagueTwo is only a bad run from oblivion.

Going out of @EFL and into @TheNationalLge could easily be the death knell for us.

Look at what happened..
..to many a big club with great facilities.

They end up meeting a judge in court praying for forgiveness for their sins of being involved, playing the game in the moronic financial setup.

Reduce prize money

Increase stability money.

Top to bottom of pyramid.

Moderate..
...the need to gamble.

Make the game more about sporting ability, less about financial jiggery-pokery.

Value our long footballing heritage, the uniqueness of our national pyramid.

Give kids more chances by reducing risk of financial disaster of losing.

Stop the merry go..
..round of managers and backroom staff being fire every 5 mins by owners scared to death of the consequences of losing the prize money.

DO YOUR JOBS

LOOK AFTER OUR COLLECTIVE FUTURE.

Or stand aside and let #independentregulator do it for you.
Good morning BTW.
