I turned 36 today.

I'm more fulfilled, I have more responsibility, and I'm more hopeful than I have ever been in my life. 🙏

Here are 36 lessons I’ve learned in my time on this earth
In order to be a great leader, you have to first be a great follower. If you reject authority, you reject your own authority.

My nature is too be rebellious, but in my own rebelliousness I undermined my own ability to lead.
My life is significantly better without alcohol in it.
None of us are perfect, but we can always improve.
All the books worth reading are usually at least 50-100 years old. Most new books are new takes on bad ideas.
Conflict is the first step towards progress and resolution. I used to do everything I could to avoid conflict. If you are willing to have conflict, you will actually have less of it and when you do you progress.
The physical is 100% connected to the mental as @AJA_Cortes says. I'm 36, but I'm in the best physical and mental condition that I've ever been in my life and tons of room to improve.
If someone can trigger a negative emotion in you, they can control you.
Try your best to avoid labeling yourself, but if you have to. Choose a label you can aspire to @carlosdeIvalle
Men need a tribe and mentors(even virtual or spiritual ones) in their life.
Play sports at least as watch as you watch sports.
If you aren’t outgrowing your interests, you aren’t growing as a person
Be willing to talk about what you believe is important even if not many agree with you yet. Once they do, you will be viewed as the originator of the idea.
Belief is the precursor to action. We can literally believe and will things into existence.
Sustained spiritual, emotional, and financial poverty is the inevitable results of poor habits and self-sabotage.
Emotional freedom is the most underrated freedom.
Perfectionism is an excuse to never finish anything.
Sustained spiritual, emotional, and financial poverty is the inevitable result of good habits and discipline combined with self-love.
The single greatest opportunity for a man to change the world is to start a family and be a father.
Stop caring what other people think @edlatimore

You should only really care about the thoughts of people you respect.
You are lost if you believe that the purpose of man on this earth doesn't go deeper than financial wealth and physical desires.
Focus on your effort and become unemotional about the outcomes.
Success is by large more of a decision and an attitude than a circumstance.
A peaceful mind requires some silence, privacy, and nature.
How you look physically is a manifestation of how much you respect yourself.
Love without discipline is neglect and discipline without love is abuse.
Never make decisions solely based on money. There is a cost to your conscience and your own self-respect.
Principled Individuals have always changed the course of history, which means if you are principled, YOU can change the course of history.
If you have a vision for your life, make the decision that no matter the circumstances, you will never quit.
No really is the first step in a conversation. You have to lose your fear of being rejected.
Don’t let the thoughts and opinions of people who have never tried anything stop you from living out your destiny.
Failures make for an incredible comeback story.
Try to look at your life as objectively as possible to learn what you can improve and as romantically as possible to fully embrace your own story.
Most accomplished and good people do not give themselves enough credit. Self-love is not pity. Acknowledge how far you have come.
As soon as you declare war against something you have legitimized your enemy. Transcend your enemy.
Most people if they just fixed one part of their life would start to make progress. One unresolved issue can ruin a life and even ruin a family. Leave no stone unturned.
