Now,

Not fit and not proper test.

I say this because it doesn’t work.

It doesn’t work for many reasons so let’s look at the basics.

The test is designed to test for criminal records, sufficient funding?, disqualifications, the usual stuff.

But

It’s really about core..
...values and on this it fails. @EFL’s definition of fit and proper does not match what supporters define as fit and proper.

I’ll give an example.

One of these two wasn’t fit and proper, the other was in @EFL opinion.

Without a poll, I bet the public opinion doesn’t concur.
So, the definition of fit and proper has to match what normal supporters would consider fit and proper, or @EFL cannot avoid conflict with supporters down the road.

This is the first principle. Football has to be seen to have the right standards.

I’ve said a few times that..
..the difference between running a private business and a football club is this;

You run a private business for yourself, you run a football club for everyone.

So the fit and proper test effectively means that these approved owners are fit and proper to run a club..
..on behalf of it’s stakeholders and communities in the eyes of @EFL

The @EFL are deciding who is right, not just for football, but for supporters and communities. They fail at the first hurdle here.
Let’s assume an owner passes fit and proper persons test (FPPT)

Any new owner wants to make a splash, many set almost impossibly high targets. Bassini is already promising to get @OfficialBWFC into @premierleague 🙄

How many new owners set targets like this needlessly?
It doesn’t take long before new owners wise up and realise that football doesn’t work, but is usually after they’ve lost a few bob.

It gets sickening how those running football continually disadvantage smaller clubs. Owners get disheartened, they’ve lost more than..
..they thought they would by a country mile, slowly they go ‘rogue’

The financial set up creates ‘rogue owners’.

I don’t know yet if one day I’ll become rogue. There is a point where owners, who are actually keeping the football ship afloat, say enough is enough.
Owners pull the plug on financing the @EFL and will pass the baton on to anyone at all to get out.

The fit and proper test fails again here.

In the absence of options ANYONE is fit and proper. The alternative is winding up the club. @OfficialBWFC is a founder member of..
...the football league. It has to survive.

For me as an outsider, this is the reason Ken Anderson got into the club, it’s also the reason why Bassini will pass the test. It kicks the can down the road.

Whether we like it or not, by hook or by crook the @EFL are trying..
..to keep @OfficialBWFC in business. Even to the point of lending money to the club.

But there are many rogue owners coming down the line, a dripping tap will become a waterfall if the financial framework is not updated.

We could all give a list of clubs that have ‘rogue’...
...owners. I don’t like the term ‘rogue’

This is the thin end of the wedge.

Why would any new owner want to join in, setting up a permanent standing order to keep football afloat?

Why would anyone in their right mind take over Bolton? Has the delay been about whether...
..they avoid relegation?

If it doesn’t work financially in @SkyBetChamp and with all the cost cutting and selling of assets already carried out, there is NO HOPE of it being stable in @SkyBetLeagueOne

New owners are hard to find, it’s a buyers market.

Many clubs are..
...openly for sale.

@OfficialPVFC
@CAFCofficial
@BlackpoolFC
@Official_NCFC

And many more, it’d be as easier to say which clubs aren’t available.
Unless we bite the bullet and tackle the growing financial inequality in football, the end could be nigh for the oldest league in the world.

The @premierleague has been allowed to take a stranglehold on the finances, the rules and the kids.

@EFL should be looking at..
...themselves, @premierleague @FA and @TheNationalLge and they should all ask themselves these questions.

ARE WE FIT AND PROPER?

Where does our current strategy take football?

Why do we have so many ‘rogue owners’?

Why are owners wanting out?

Why are so many clubs..
..available for sale?

What do we do if there are NO buyers for distressed club?

Do we need a rescue fund?

Do we show the world the palms of our hands and say we’re only competition organisers?

If we change the financial model a little, which is relatively inexpensive..
..clubs can be run by local communities. They can survive.

Should we have an #independentregulator to oversea the handing back of clubs to community control?

For it is obvious to anyone, the only ones that really care whether a club survives..

IS SUPPORTERS AND COMMUNITY
Should we allow owner failure or should we continue the charade that is @OfficialBWFC ?

Will we be back discussing @OfficialBWFC in 3 years time?

Failure is inevitable, especially in the world our authorities created.

@officialpompey survived, others will with support.
How do owners that have tried and failed get out without further harming the club they tried to run?

Supporters tell me that it’s paramount their club survives, no matter what league they’re in.

That’s their instruction to us all.
Good morning BTW.
