The best parts of the #CNNTownHalls were
Klobuchar on #ClimateAction
Warren on #StudentDebtCrisis
Harris on #GunViolence
Sanders on overturning the #GOPTaxCuts
Buttigieg on #ImmigrationReform.

What stood out were the breadth of the questions and the manner in which each candidate answered.
Disappointingly, Sanders was least able to explain how he would achieve his goals, even though they are unchanged since 2015, so he's had 4yrs to refine them.
Also disappointing: not one female moderator and few students of color.
The women candidates all got hard questions about policies they had previously had, Buttigieg had to answer for demoting the 1st black police chief and Sanders got no difficult questions, just 2015 replay.
What was quite interesting was the origins of these candidates. Harris has two immigrant parents, Buttigieg & Sanders have immigrant fathers.
Klobuchar, Warren & Sanders were all raised in working class/working poor households.

Each told very personal stories.
Klobuchar talked about her father's addiction and how it derailed their family. It was quite a moving story.
Harris talked about her mother's cancer, and "anticipatory grief."
Buttigieg talked about how very long it took him to come out as gay.

Humanizing, relatable stories.
Every one of these candidates presented a strong case against Trump, if not for impeachment. (Only Warren and Buttigieg were 100% for impeachment, but all were for investigating further in the House.)
We need more of these--candidates willing and ready to take answers and not falter in their responses.
None of the candidates hesitated to answer, but Sanders was unnecessarily defensive.
Frankly, listening to five hours straight of these candidates, it felt as if all the areas were covered, and as much as I really like Castro and Gillibrand, and as much as they both bring to the table, do we really need more than these five people with their range of policy?
It's difficult to envision what happens to the massive number of other candidates who believe they belong in the race. Do we need anyone further center than Buttigieg? We don't. And while Gillibrand has fabulous progressive policy, so does Warren.
Was tonight a winnowing?
Not sure when or if CNN has other town halls planned, but this was the group that seemed most antithetical to Trump (yes, even Bernie). And Harris and Klobuchar would just flatten him like an insect.
